The second location to make its World Cup debut this year, Canada comes with all the hype you could expect from a country that has consistently found itself as a powerhouse contender for the world’s best trails. The level of cross-tri talent coming out of Canada is growing fast, and hosting the penultimate stop of the World Cup series on home turf will no doubt fuel that fire.

The Battle Up North

Ringing in the 10th edition of the XTERRA Quebec FD race, it’s more than fitting that it will do so as a World Cup stop. Big names such as 15x XTERRA USA Champion Josiah Middaugh, APAC Champion Kieran McPherson, and 10x XTERRA Champion Samantha Kinsford have all laid claim to the race, but never has the startlist been as formidable as it will be on July 14th.

Those looking to stamp their name on the 10th edition and claim the points that come with it will need to use their full arsenal of skills. The race begins in the fresh waters of the Lac Delage, where the pack will naturally break into groups and to set up the battles that await on a bike course that has it all. The technical climbing will show exactly who has that perfect balance of power and skill while the flowing singletrack sections with tight turns and no shortage of rocks and roots will show who is ready to take the risks necessary to win this race. The run is no easy finish either, leaving those who didn’t quite save enough gas to lose it all in the final kilometres.

It’s the final stop in the North American region and also a double-feature event, leaving the door open to score big in both the Full Distance and Short Track races.
