XTERRA Portland Sprint Triathlon, with its shorter distances and less technical courses, is the ideal off-road triathlon race for first timers, young guns and those who are looking to go fast and finish quick. This event will be part of the XTERRA Junior World Tour for those 14-19 years old.

The swim is a one lap, 500-meter swim, in Hagg Lake. The start will be a shoreline start.

The bike course takes you on one large loop around the lake on the Hagg Lake Trail, for a total of 21 Kilometers. About 72% of the course is on dirt trails.

The run course is an out and back on Hagg Lake Trail. Total distance is 5K.

Can I use a gravel bike?

For the XTERRA Portland Full Triathlon, Sprint Triathlon and the Duathlon, a mountain bike is required, no gravel bike.  For the Super Sprint event, all bikes are welcome (except electric bikes), but note that the bike course is mostly on trails.
