About Stay Connected With Updates
WHAT: XTERRA Black Canyon Trail Run
WHEN: March 8, 2020
WHERE: Rock Springs Cafe (map it)
This XTERRA series finale is not the event to miss. Lots of climbing, river crossings, sandy beaches, and endless singletrack. The best part? Our after race party is hosted at Rock Springs Café which means….DELICIOUS PIE!! 1/2 marathon, 10k, or a 6k fun run. This course is awesome! If you've never been out here, be prepared for a treat :) Shuttles will be provided to transport runners to the start line for the 1/2 marathon. Runners may use their own transportation to be dropped off at the start line, however, there will be no parking permitted at the Table Mesa Trailhead. There will be coffee, music, and a fire at the 13.1 mile start for those of you who take the earlier shuttles. First shuttle leaves at 5:30am. Last shuttle leaves at 6:40am.
The wildflowers will be blooming and the bar will be open! Join us for the series awards ceremony, have a drink, hang out in the creek and enjoy the pie! All participants will receive a huge post-race breakfast, a super cool race tee and finisher medal, as well as entry into fun post-race festivities.
*PLEASE NOTE: HEADPHONES = DQ. This is a safety issue. While no headphones is a general Shendo Cat Racing policy it is particularly pertinent at Black Canyon. This course consists almost entirely of singletrack with a ton of exposure. You need to be aware of your surroundings. When you pass someone, they need to be able to hear you coming. If you are found wearing headphones at any time, you will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Shendo Cat Racing needs YOU to make these events happen!
Volunteers guarantee the success of each event. They man the aid stations, cheer on the athletes, direct the misdirected runner, provide medical personnel, and generally make the races safer for everyone. We guarantee a great time and the time spent will be worthwhile. You don’t have to be a runner or athlete to volunteer at our events. If you have simple words of encouragement and are able to help direct runners or hand out water, you are valuable to us! In exchange for your time, you’ll be rewarded with coffee during the wee hours of the morning, goodies and refreshments, and most importantly the feel-good feeling of knowing that you helped to make the event happen and everyone finished because of the help you offered. You’ll also receive points for volunteering. Earn 6 points and you’ve earned a free race! Questions? Contact shannon [at] aztrailrace.com.
