Villacidro is a small, welcoming town located about 45 km from Cagliari, the main airport of Sardinia. Reaching Villacidro is quite easy, especially if you arrive by plane. The most convenient option is to fly into Cagliari Elmas Airport (CAG), which is the closest and best-connected airport on the island.
Once you arrive in Cagliari, the easiest and most flexible way to reach Villacidro is by renting a car. The drive takes approximately 40–45 minutes and allows you to travel comfortably while also giving you the freedom to explore Sardinia during your stay. The road network is well developed, and Villacidro can be reached directly from Cagliari by taking the SS130 and then the SP196 via Villasor.
If you prefer not to drive, Villacidro is also accessible by public transport, although the journey is longer and may require a few connections. From Cagliari Airport, you can take a bus to the city center and then continue with a regional ARST bus to Villacidro. Alternatively, you can reach nearby towns such as San Gavino or Guspini by train and then continue to Villacidro by local bus or taxi. These options are reliable but take more time compared to traveling by car.
It is also possible to reach Sardinia through other airports, such as Olbia or Alghero, but these are much farther from Villacidro and involve longer and less direct journeys.
Overall, flying into Cagliari and renting a car is the best solution to reach Villacidro easily and to fully enjoy everything Sardinia has to offer.
The registration fee is non-refundable; in case of non-participation in the race, the competitor loses all rights. The fee includes the contents of the race pack with race number, timing, refreshments during the race, final lunch, and any prizes.
