Registrations are now open for the 2026 XTERRA Weston Park weekend, returning to the 1,000 acre Weston Park estate in the UK for the fourth consecutive edition of international off-road festivities in a fully exclusive, traffic-free setting.
Set on the Staffordshire Shropshire border within a 17th century country estate, XTERRA Weston Park has quickly become one of the most distinctive stops on the XTERRA World Tour. All events and immersive activities take place inside the grounds, sharing the trails, lakeside paths, and open parkland that surround the historic red brick manor and its preserved landscape.
The 2026 event will once again form part of the XTERRA World Cup, bringing a strong international field of professional off-road triathletes to the UK. The heart of the weekend belongs to the age group and youth competitors who arrive to explore, challenge themselves, aim to qualify for the 30th anniversary XTERRA World Championship, and live more in the outdoors with a caring community of adventurers.

Across the weekend, athletes and families can choose from a Full Distance and Sprint off-road triathlon, Super Sprint and Sprint formats for Youth A, Youth B, and Junior categories, and a dedicated Kids Bike & Run that continues to draw smiles as a joyous highlight of the weekend.
Away from the start line, the estate comes to life with mountain bike community rides, camping under open skies, and a relaxed festival environment where everyone can move easily between the lake, the trails, and the race village where live music, food vendors and exhibits await.
Doug Hall, EMEA General Manager, explained, “The 2026 layout will use Weston Park’s trail network in new and creative ways to introduce meaningful changes from previous years.” He described the terrain as “a mix of tight woodland singletrack, smooth parkland paths, and quick transitions that let athletes find their rhythm while still offering enough variety to keep the course rewarding for everyone at all levels.”

Gifted to the nation by the 7th Earl of Bradford and now managed by the Weston Park Foundation, the estate operates as an Independent Charitable Trust dedicated to preserving its buildings, parkland, and biodiversity. XTERRA Weston Park builds on that mission through considered event design, including a course layout refined in recent years to reduce impact on the land, eliminate plastic tape course boundaries, and keep the entire experience focused on shared respect for the trails and the people who look after them.
Jennifer Astbury, former Head of Estate Operations at Weston Park, reflected on the estate’s long standing commitment to conservation and community engagement, saying, “As an Independent Charitable Trust, Weston Park has always been a place where nature, education and activity unite to preserve this beautiful estate.”

The 2026 XTERRA Youth Tour returning to Weston Park is a key stop for young athletes aiming to qualify for the third XTERRA Youth World Championship, held alongside the 30th anniversary XTERRA World Championship in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Weston Park provides an ideal setting for dedicated Sprint and Super Sprint races, bringing out the best in developing athletes across Youth A, Youth B, and Junior categories.
Oliver Goodman (GBR), the defending Super Sprint champion, summed up the appeal of the venue, saying, “I really liked the course—good grounds, great layout.” Rebecca van Aardt (GBR), who topped the Youth B girls race in the previous edition, shared that “The swim was great, the lake was warm, and the course was nice and flowy.” Junior winner Iwan Froley (GBR) added a front line perspective with “The bike was fast and tactical. XTERRA is just a fun environment to be in, the people are nice, and I always enjoy it.”
Nathan Walker (GBR), a 2024 Sprint winner and 2025 podium finisher, pointed to what makes the venue welcoming for families and supporters saying, “It’s a great venue for camping and watching other races, a nice family atmosphere, with everyone there for the same experience.”

The age group community remains central to XTERRA Weston Park, carrying the tradition forward and sharing it with friends, families, and everyone they meet along the way. Their connection to the course and to each other creates a genuine warmth to the weekend.
Renell Brennan (GBR, 55-59), who has raced all three previous editions of XTERRA Weston Park shared, “For me, XTERRA is about the camaraderie, friendship, and mutual support.” She added, “I love reconnecting with friends.”
William Hammerton (GBR, 75-79) reflected on how the venue brings out the best in the sport by saying, “My favourite XTERRA memory was completing the Full Distance, greeted by such wonderful kindness from everyone despite being the oldest competitor.”
Loren Ward (GBR, 35-39), the reigning European Champion in her age group and the 2025 XTERRA Weston Park Full Distance and Sprint Triathlon winner for her division, captured the energy that keeps athletes returning, saying, “Weston Park reminded me why I love this sport so much, the energy, the people, the pure fun of racing. I’m so excited to go back again next year to see what more they have in store for us.”
