In the early days of July, the mountain town of Ruidoso, New Mexico, was struck by devastating flash floods. Triggered by intense monsoon rains over burn-scarred terrain, the event caused tragic loss of life and widespread damage across the region.

Our hearts go out to all those affected. At XTERRA, we stand with the people of Ruidoso—with deep respect for their strength, their spirit, and their unwavering resolve to move forward.

Despite the challenges, this remarkable community has made it clear: XTERRA Ruidoso 2025 will go on.

The event, scheduled for August 16–17, will not only welcome athletes from around the world—it will serve as a powerful symbol of healing, pride, and collective resilience. The course remains untouched, the mountains are ready, and the people of Ruidoso are rising together once again.

“The Village of Ruidoso is excited to confirm that we will be hosting the XTERRA Ruidoso/Gold Level Event this August as planned. Our community is ready, and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome athletes and visitors from around the world to our beautiful mountain town.‍

‍This event represents much more than a competition – it's a symbol of resilience and renewal for our community. After enduring significant challenges from floods and fires over the past year, the XTERRA Ruidoso/Gold Level Event offers an incredible opportunity to lift our spirits and showcase the strength of Ruidoso. Our community has shown remarkable perseverance, and hosting this premier athletic event demonstrates our commitment to moving forward together.‍

‍We're pleased to report that the racecourse remains in excellent condition and has sustained no damage from recent natural events. Our team has worked diligently to ensure every aspect of the course meets XTERRA's high standards, and we're confident participants will experience the challenging, scenic terrain that makes Ruidoso such a special destination for outdoor sports.‍

‍The excitement extends beyond the competition itself. We're particularly looking forward to Saturday evening’s celebration, which will serve as the official kickoff for the 2026 XTERRA World Championships which will also be held in Ruidoso in 2026, 2027, and 2028. This amazing party will bring together athletes, families, and community members for an unforgettable evening that captures the spirit of both XTERRA and Ruidoso.‍
