RULES & INFO

The information below may be from a previous edition of the event, and is subject to change.

Who can join this race?

For this inaugural age group-focused event, registration is open to all who qualified and registered for the XTERRA World Championship full-distance race, as well as  selected XTERRA VIP teams. Slots are limited to the first 200 athletes who register, and it will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

The relay race will be between four-person teams in any combination – all men, all women, mixed (two men, two women) or mixed with any gender combination. Racers will have the opportunity to hand-pick their team or have XTERRA create a team for them with athletes from other countries.

What is the Short Track Relay race format?

Each racer will complete one lap of the high-adrenaline course that combines a 200-meter swim with an obstacle-strewn, 3km mountain bike, and a 1.2km trail run before handing off to their teammate.

Do I need a license?

Certainly. To participate in this race, you must have a license in accordance with the rules of World Triathlon and the Italian Federation. If you bought a 1-day license (€20) for the full-distance race, please note that you will need to purchase another one for the short track race (€8), as it takes place on a different day. One medical certificate is good for both licenses.

How do I register?

On September 6th, registration will officially open. There are two ways to register:

If you already have a team, follow these steps:

  1. Choose a team captain to register first via Active to create a team.

  2. The team captain must select "Create a team" and come up with a unique team name.

  3. Team members should then receive the team name and password (if any) from their captain to sign up and join their team.

Note that if your team does not have 4 people, XTERRA will assign participants to your team.

If you don't have a team, simply choose "No" when the registration prompt asks if you want to join or create a team, and XTERRA will create a team for you.

Any special rules about equipment?

General World Triathlon rules apply. Wetsuits are optional, but will be mandatory if the water temperature falls below 16°C. Gravel bikes are not allowed.
