  3. Receive a ROLL-DOWN spot from a 2022 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Event.
    - Initial qualifiers have two weeks to confirm and pay for their slot after their race. If they don’t take their slot, it will roll down to the next person in their division, who will also have two weeks to confirm and pay. This process repeats down to the top 5 eligible athletes in each division at Silver races, and the top 10 in each division at Gold races. Slots may roll further at the discretion of XTERRA officials to account for slot winners who previously qualified and are already registered.

  4. The reigning 2021 XTERRA World Champions automatically qualify so they can defend their title in Trentino.  The 2022 Champs will be invited to the 2023 World Championship.

  5. Legacy slots will be awarded to XTERRA athletes who have raced more than 15 events over the last five seasons, or, raced in 15 or more past XTERRA World Championship races. If you meet either requirement, email entries@xterraplanet.com to request a legacy slot.

  6. Physically challenged athletes are required to compete in at least one XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Series race then request an entry by emailing entries@xterraplanet.com.

  7. Athletes may apply for one of the following exemptions (not guaranteed, on case-by-case basis):

  • Geographic Exemption: If you live more than 500 miles away from a qualifying event.

  • Media/Influencers: Accredited journalists and influencers with a letter of assignment and/or verified reach, and proven athletic ability.

  • Discretionary: The XTERRA World Championship committee will consider unique appeals on a case-by-case basis. To make a case for a qualifying spot, email entries@xterraplanet.com with a detailed explanation in English or French.

NOTES

  • The Italian Triathlon Federation does not allow athletes under 18 to compete. Only athletes 18 or older by December 31, 2022, are eligible to race at XTERRA Worlds.

RULES

We will be following the World Triathlon Competition Rules for the 2022 XTERRA World Championship. Please reference this link for full regulations. https://www.triathlon.org/uploads/docs/World_Triathlon_Competition_Rules_2022.pdf

To race in Italy it is necessary to have a Triathlon license.

OPTION 1: You must have a valid annual license from a triathlon federation (the federation must be a part of World Triathlon to be accepted). Show it at the Race Office on site during the race weekend.

OPTION 2: You don’t have a valid annual license of your Triathlon Federation, you can buy a daily license issued by FITRI (Italian Triathlon Federation) on site.

In order to receive your FITRI one-day-license you need to:

  • Bring a medical certificate for the practice of triathlon. In order to meet all legal requirements, the medical certificate must be issued by an authorized Italian center for sports medicine, NOT OLDER THAN 1 year on the race day and with the compulsory mention: "for triathlon".

  • Present a ID or passport

  • Pay 20 € for Age-Group athletes (cash only)*

According to Italian law and the regulations, an Italian medical certificate is compulsory to obtain a sports license in Italy. These obligations apply to every organizer of any kind of competition and all sports.

To meet these needs, we therefore recommend, to register with your national triathlon federation and to bring your membership card with you to the Race Office.

There will be a doctor available to issue the medical certification for non federation license holders in Molveno.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATE ON SITE
Where: Molveno, ground floor Centro Congressi/Piscine di Molveno
When: 30 september 11:00/19:30
Who: Doctor. GIROLAMO MIRANTE
Cost: €60 per VISIT

Short FAQ: You will need to show your valid triathlon license to race. If you do not have a valid annual triathlon license, you will need to (at your expense) obtain a certificate specific to triathlon from an authorized Italian medical provider to be able to purchase a FITRI Day License.
