RULES & INFO

HOW TO QUALIFY

AGE GROUPERS

  1. Win your division in a 2024 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Event (see schedule).

  2. Finish in a qualifying spot at one of the 2024 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Gold Events in Taiwan (Asia-Pacific Championship), Oak Mountain (USA), Lake Garda, Belgium (European Championship), France, Lake Scanno, Czech Republic, the USA Championship in Colorado, and Germany as follows

  3. Receive a ROLL-DOWN spot from a 2024 XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Event.
    - Initial qualifiers have two weeks to confirm and pay for their slot after their race. If they don’t take their slot, it will roll down to the next person in their division, who will also have two weeks to confirm and pay. This process repeats down to the top 3 eligible athletes in each division at Silver races, and the top 5 in each division at Gold races. Slots may roll further at the discretion of XTERRA officials to account for slot winners who previously qualified and are already registered.

  4. The reigning 2023 XTERRA World Champions automatically qualify so they can defend their title in Trentino.  The 2023 Champs will be invited to the 2024 World Championship.

  5. Legacy slots will be awarded to XTERRA athletes who have raced more than 15 events over the last five seasons, or, raced in 15 or more past XTERRA World Championship races. If you meet either requirement, email entries@xterraplanet.com to request a legacy slot.

  6. Physically challenged athletes are required to compete in at least one XTERRA World Championship Qualifying Series race and then request an entry by emailing entries@xterraplanet.com.

  7. Athletes may apply for one of the following exemptions (not guaranteed, on a case-by-case basis):

  • Geographic Exemption: If you live more than 500 miles away from a qualifying event.

  • Media/Influencers: Accredited journalists and influencers with a letter of assignment and/or verified reach, and proven athletic ability.

  • Discretionary: The XTERRA World Championship committee will consider unique appeals on a case-by-case basis. To make a case for a qualifying spot, email entries@xterraplanet.com with a detailed explanation in English or French.

NOTES

  • The Italian Triathlon Federation does not allow athletes under 18 to compete. Only athletes 18 or older by December 31, 2024, are eligible to race at XTERRA Worlds.

  • If you’re an athlete who qualified at a 2023 event for 2024 Worlds and have not yet received a registration link and code, email entries@xterraplanet.com.

  • Athletes who qualify for events taking place between August 1st, 2024 and August 31st, 2024, can accept and pay for a slot into the 2024 OR 2025 XTERRA World Championship (not both). Events taking place after September 1st award slots only to the 2025 XTERRA World Championship.
