2024 XTERRA Morocco Cancelled

Dear XTERRA Athletes,

It is with sincere regret that we must inform you of the cancellation of the XTERRA Morocco event originally scheduled for the 24th and 25th of February 2024.

‍

Upon receiving notification from Souss Triathlon, the Local Organizing Committee entrusted with the licensing, planning, and execution of the event, we were informed of the withdrawal of permits essential for the safe and lawful conduct of the event. Consequently, Souss Triathlon is unable to proceed with the event in any capacity.

The unexpected cancellation of XTERRA Morocco is equally disheartening for both the XTERRA organization and all participating athletes. Our XTERRA EMEA team has tirelessly endeavoured over the past 24 hours to explore avenues for resolution. However, in the absence of assurances regarding athlete safety, we must acknowledge and respect Souss Triathlon's decision to cancel the event.

Direct communication will be initiated with affected athletes to provide further guidance on refunding event registration fees and any subsequent actions to be taken once XTERRA has fully understood the situation and reached an agreement with Souss Triathlon.
