WHERE: Tsali Recreation Area - County Line Road, Almond, NC 28702 (map it)
Held on the famous Tsali trail system near Bryson City in Western NC. This park is a perfect venue for an off-road Triathlon as it has some of the areas best lakes, a fun and fast trail system and a quiet comfortable setting. Trail maintenance and parking volunteers thanks to Nantahala Area Sorba.

Saturday, June 22

All participants must present a picture ID plus either a current valid USAT license or purchase a temporary one day USAT license at registration for $15.
USAT rules state that competitors may wear wetsuits if the water temperature is 78 degrees or lower. USAT rules also state that if the water temperature is between 78.1 - 83.9 degrees, competitors may wear wetsuits but will not be eligible for awards. If the water temperature is 84 degrees or above, participants may not wear wetsuits. Water temperature will be tested on race morning.
Pre-entry deadline of 10pm Eastern time on Thursday before event = $60 Individual / $120 Relay Team Day of entries are accepted but $10 late fee applies.
Course Info - XTERRA Triathlon
Distances: .5 Mile Swim | 5 Mile Trail Run | 10 Mile Mountain Bike
The ½ mile lake swim will start off the event as athletes will begin on East shore and swim out to a point in the lake marked with buoys and then back to the beach. After exiting the water the racers will face a short run to the transition area to begin the 5-mile run course (Red Arrows) on the "right loop alternate" trail. The mountain bike leg, which consists of a 10-mile loop (Blue Arrows) will take the riders around the popular “left loop” to the finish in the Transition area.
