How long is the Challenge?
The Challenge runs 30 days from July 15 through August 13. You can enter at any time during this period.
Are there restrictions on how I generate kilometers towards the Challenge?
Yes. Human-powered is the only requirement – no motors. For example, you can bike, run, walk, skip, swim, rollerblade, etc. You can contribute more than one activity on a single day (eg. run and swim).
Can I contribute to the Challenge without going outside?
Yes. We accept any human-powered mode of transport including stationary bike, treadmill, stair climber, bike trainer, etc.
Can I contribute to the Challenge outside?
Yes. We accept any human-powered mode of transport including bike, run, walk, skip, swim, rollerblade, etc.
How often can I add kilometers to the Challenge?
Each individual, family, or team member can update once per day for each of the 30-days.
How many people can register as a family or team?
You can register a family or a team of any size.
What’s the difference between family and team categories?
Family entries provides a single registration for one person who is responsible for uploading results for all family members totaled by day. Team entries allow for all team members to register under the team name and upload their own results upon completion of each session.
I want to add my entry to my team’s registration. How do I do it?
After a team captain has created their team members can join the team by selecting the “join team” option during registration. Members will select the team name and provide the team password (if applicable).
Family teams require only a single head of household registration.
How do I upload results?
All results are uploaded through https://myevents.active.com/xterra. We need your daily distance in kilometers and mode of travel (eg. run, bike, walk) for each session completed. If you used more than one mode of travel in a day, record the combined total under the category “multiple”.
Individuals: Upload each day that you participate in the Challenge.
Family: One person is responsible for totaling distance by all family members and method of travel for each day of participation and upload as above.
Team: All team members upload their own total distance and method of travel as they perform it. We will total data for all team members.
Where can I find results, and when will they be available?
We will display daily updates of total cumulative challenge distance at xterraplanet.com/rally. We will recognize the top 25 in each division – men, women, family and team through leaderboards as well. Results will be updated daily. Final totals will be published on August 14.
I want to order a t-shirt, but didn’t do it when I registered. Can I still order one?
Yes, you can order one from the bottom of this page or from xterraplanet.com/rally. You can pre-order a shirt(s) through the day after the Challenge ends (August 14 at 11:59pm Hawaii time).
I want to make a donation to GlobalGiving, but didn’t do it when I registered. Can I still do it?

Where can I find my digital Passport?
On July 14, you will receive an email with a link to your XTERRA Virtual Race Passport. Use your Virtual Race Passport to show off your participation in the Rally Around XTERRA Planet Challenge. Upload the digital passport to your Instagram or Facebook story and add the unique Rally Around XTERRA Planet Participation Sticker by searching “XTERRA” under stickers. Don’t forget to tag @xterraplanet #xterravr on your story for a chance to be featured on our official Instagram. Use this same passport to collect more stamps and participate in future XTERRA Virtual Races.

I donated to GlobalGiving Coronavirus Fund and need proof of donation for tax purposes. Will I get a tax receipt?
Yes, you will receive a letter from XTERRA Foundation confirming your donation. If you did not receive a letter, email xvr [at] xterraplanet.com.
When will I receive the Rally t-shirt I ordered?
Merchandise is produced at the conclusion of the event. Please allow up to 8-10 weeks for your delivery to arrive. We’ll get it there sooner if at all possible.
