GENERAL RULES

GENERAL REGULATIONS
1.1 USE OF NEOPRENE
Use of wetsuit allowed for age-group athletes, if the water temperature is below 22 ° C.

Use of a wetsuit is mandatory if the water temperature is equal to or below 14 ° C.

These temperature rules may be suspended by the race director at his discretion.

1.2 BUOYS
Any athlete spotted incorrectly surpassing a buoy will be assessed a 2-minute penalty.

1.3 SWIMMING (GENERAL)
The use of fins or other types of devices to aid swimming is prohibited.

1.4 SWIM CAPS
The organizers will provide participants with a swimming cap when entering the starting box, which must be worn by all competitors for their safety in the water. If an athlete wishes to wear two swimming caps (double protection), the cap provided by the organization must always be worn on top of the other, being fully visible.

2.1 NUMBERS
It is not necessary to wear a bib number in the bike segment in XTerra races. If a participant decides to wear a bib number in this segment, cutting out the numbers or altering the sponsor stickers is not allowed.

2.2 TYPE OF BICYCLE
Only mountain bikes are allowed to compete. Cyclo-cross bikes are not allowed. Road handlebars are not allowed, nor aerodynamic couplings. The wheels must be 26 or 27.5 or 29-inch rims. Horns or couplings shall not exceed 5 inches.

2.3 ROUTE
The bicycle segment must be completed by each participant on the same bicycle that is started. The participant must arrive with his bicycle at the bike/run transition zone to be authorized to continue with the test.

2.4 ADVANCES
Bent cyclists must yield to those overtaking. Overtaking triathletes should yell "track!" or "on your right!" when they go to overtake. It is the responsibility of the overtaking cyclist to perform the maneuver safely. Slower riders must yield to the fastest rider at the first warning. In the case of two cyclists fighting for the same position, the one in front does not have to give up his position to the one he is trying to overtake. However, it is forbidden to cover with the body to prevent the other cyclist from going forward.

2.5 DRAFTING
Drafting (go to wheel) is allowed.

2.6 OTHER GENERALITIES
The numbers of the bicycle must be mounted on the handlebars with the number on the front. Cutting the number or altering the sponsors' pages is not allowed. The helmet must be worn at all times. You cannot ride your bike through the transition area. The helmet must be fastened before removing the bike from the box support in transition zone 1 (T1) and can only be unfastened after leaving the bike in the box support in transition 2 (T2).

3.1 NUMBERS
Bibs must be worn in front, with the bib number clearly visible. Cutting the number or altering the sponsors' pages is not allowed. A warning will be given for not wearing the number in front, at the second the participant will be penalized with 2 minutes. The loss of the number in the foot race will be penalized with two minutes.

4.1 UNKNOWLEDGE OF RULES
Ignorance of the rules will not be considered an excuse.

4.2 HYDRATION
It is the participant's responsibility to maintain adequate hydration. The organizer will establish 1 refreshment point in the bicycle segments and 2 in the running race.

4.3 SHORTENING THE TRIP
Shortening the course of the race through shortcuts or other trails is prohibited and will be grounds for disqualification. The runner is obliged to follow the path indicated or specified as a route, which will be duly marked. It is the participant's responsibility to know the designated route. The lack of tape or beaconing will not under any circumstances be an excuse to shorten or shorten the route.

4.4 ASSISTANCE DURING THE TEST
Limited assistance from another triathlete who is competing in the same event is allowed. No assistance is allowed from anyone who is not competing in the same event. These include spectators, friends, family, volunteers, team members, photographers, police, or judges, but it is not limited to just these.

Assistance is limited to the following: tools, cameras, any general object that can be used to repair a damaged part of the bicycle, water, food, and first aid. The change of bicycles is not allowed. As an example, a competitor may give another a chain breaker, a link, or even a complete chain. One athlete can leave a camera patch, a camera, or a full cover to another. But one participant cannot leave his bike to the other participant so that the other participant can simply continue without repairing the bike.

4.5 GENERAL CONDUCT
Reckless behavior on the bike or in the running, unsportsmanlike behavior or insults and the use of foul or profane language will be cause for warning, penalty, disqualification or fine.

4.6 CLAIMS
Claims of any nature must be addressed within an hour after the triathlete presenting the claim arrives at the finish line. Claims must be filed in writing and formed by the claiming triathlete. Complaining because someone has shortened the route is not enough - it must be reflected in detail in writing and as accurately as possible. All claims will be dealt with and investigated.

Due to the nature of the route in XTERRA, it is not always possible to see how the infractions are committed. XTERRA runs through forests, sometimes with little visibility of the participants, and with the judges only where it is really necessary. In any case, verification of the offense will be necessary. Judges will not argue in “saw / didn't see” discussions.

4.8 MISCELLANEOUS
No type of sound device is allowed during the competition. Examples: cannot be used among other headphones, magnetic tape players, tape recorders, CD players, MP3 players or 2-way radios.

4.8 SANCTIONS
The penalties will be determined by the seriousness of the offense. The minimum penalty is 2 minutes. The maximum penalty is a disqualification in the event and/or a loss of prize money.

4.9 CUTTING TIMES
Cut-off times apply exclusively to XTERRA full distance tests. The cutoff is set at the second transition (T2) from bike to run. All triathletes must leave T2 within 3 and a half hours from the start of the competition. When the start is in staggered times (by waves, with compensated times), the time will be measured from the last start. In certain cases, the race director may alter the cut-off time.

4.10 PROFESSIONAL TRIATHLETES
licensed professional triathletes can enter and compete in any XTERRA event of the World Tour or National Championship and win prize money. Anyone who wants to enroll in the Professional / Elite category must prove that they are professional and that they have been accepted as such by a recognized multisport representative body, such as ITU, ETU, USA Triathlon UCI, USA Cycling (road, cyclo-cross, track or mountain bike), any national governing body for triathlon, or any national governing body for cycling.

The athlete must present an updated and current card, well-specified and legible. Without proof of being a professional, no athlete will compete as such in the professional/elite category.

Unlicensed Olympic athletes from the disciplines of cycling, swimming, running or skiing will also be allowed to compete as elite/professional. If an athlete without a license believes that he is qualified, he must send a request to the race director or the General Director (direccion@xterraargentina.com) to obtain authorization.

The race director, under his responsibility, has the power to allow an athlete to participate, on rare occasions, in the professional/elite category.

5.1 CASES OF DOPING
If an athlete enters the race subject to an anti-doping penalty or investigation, he/she will be disqualified and forfeit the entire entry fee.

5.2 GENERAL
1.- At the time of registering and canceling the registration, the athlete declares to be satisfied and aware of the rules and regulations of the competition and undertakes to comply with them

2.- The change to another participant has a value of $ 25,000, and must be notified as a kitten 10 days before the event.

3.- Only athletes who appear OK, in the official competition list will be accredited to compete

4.- The values ​​will be differentiated by sections or number of athletes per section, which will be published on the web. The organization can vary sections and values ​​according to its needs.

5.- In case of resignation to participate of an athlete. This will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the canceled value paid to another future participation, provided that they give notice at least 10 business days prior to the event. Change of distance must pay a fine of $ 10,000 plus the difference in the value of the registration if there is such a difference in favor of the organization. There is no refund for exchange at a shorter distance.

6.- Athletes will have a period of 2.5 hours to enter T2. From that time on they will be diverted to T2 to continue the race without qualifying.

7.- The resale of registrations is absolutely prohibited.

8.- The organization can make changes in the bases, which must be informed in the technical talk, prior to the departure of each competition.

9.- As it is a 2022 circuit date, the age at December 31, 2022, must be considered. The categories are those indicated on the event page

10.- The organization is not responsible for the belongings of the athletes.

11.- The production is not responsible for accidents before, during, or after the event, however, the test will have a paramedic and an ambulance equipped for first aid.

12.- The career assistance service is provided free of charge until primary care in case of accidents and the respective emergency transfer to a hospital.

13.- Each athlete must preferably have their medical insurance prior to the competition.

14.- There will only be 300 places in total per distance

15.- The technical control of the test will be in charge of the appointed Judges, and the application of its regulations, which the athletes must know, will be required.

16.- The judges will keep track of the test, delivering the sanctioned athletes at each stage of the competition to the Stop and Go judge.

17.- The stop and go judge must put on a visible blackboard the number of athletes sanctioned in the previous stages.

18.- It will be the responsibility of each athlete to stop and serve their penalty at the indicated place in any turn of the running stage, at the athlete's choice.

19.- All sanctioned athletes will have the right to make their corresponding discharges or make claims against third parties.

20.- To have access to discharges or claims, they must present it in writing and cancel USD40 in case of tests with the right to cash prizes no later than 20 minutes after the test has concluded.

21.- The commission of judges will take charge of the claims and will answer as soon as possible depending on the background of the case.

22.- A maximum period of 10 business days is defined to pronounce on each case.

24.- All lack of education, rudeness, aggression, and insults of any kind between athletes, the public or any member of the organization, will be grounds for disqualification of the runner from the test, without any right to awards.

25.- Each runner disqualified from a competition will be passed to the discipline committee to study greater sanctions if the case warrants it. He will be disqualified from participating in the next competition and will not be entitled to prize money in his next participation.

26.- The technical talk is mandatory and your attendance will be controlled. Whoever does not attend will not have any right to claim or observation of any kind before, during, and after the competition.

27.- It is an obligation to return the chip at the end of the competition in order to qualify for classification. If you lose it, you must notify a judge upon arrival at the finish line or during the competition (loss value USD10)

28: - The competition technical shirt and finisher medal is a prize for finishing the race and they are delivered when reaching the finish line.



 

SWIM RULES

SWIM REGULATION
1.- The use of the swimming cap provided by the organization is mandatory.

2.- The use of a wet suit will be indicated by the organization the day before the competition, depending on the water temperature according to the norm.

3.- The swimmers must do the circuit according to what is indicated by the judge before the game.

4.- Any external help will be grounds for disqualification

5.- The use of fins, paddles, snorkels, or any floating element is not allowed.

6.- When arriving at T1, all the swimming implements must be inside the basket of the closed park assigned to each athlete. From that point, the production will transfer them to T2

7.- The maximum swimming time is 45 minutes. From that time they will be taken to shore and may continue the competition without the right to awards.

RUN RULES

RUN REGULATION
1.- The trot number must always be visible on the front of the athlete. Non-compliance will be penalized with 15 seconds of stop and. go.

2.- There will be a supply station with isotonic and water every 2500 meters maximum.

3.- Once reached the finish line, each athlete has a maximum period of 30 minutes to remove their bicycle from the closed cycling park.

4.- Athletes can run, walk or crawl by their own means in the running stage.

5.- It is the responsibility of each athlete to know the circuit, count his turns and go completely through the circuit indicated in the technical talk prior to the event.

6.- It is forbidden to perform the running stage with an uncovered torso

7.- It is forbidden for a third party to mark, accompany or help you in the trot accompanying you in any section of the circuit. The athlete will be penalized.

BIKE RULES

WAIVER

5.4 RELEASE FORM LIABILITY

I also affirm to be the participant and not accept these conditions through another person.

SECOND: Likewise, in a voluntary and irrevocable way, I expressly declare, understanding and making this manifestation of will by all my clients, whether legal or contractual, the following: I expressly waive and release from all civil liability, including extra-contractual liability that may affect the organizers of the event, of any demand, action, request, that may claim due to the event. Likewise, I also extend this resignation in a special way to directors, executives, administrative employees, volunteers, as well as I do it in favor of the sponsors of the event, or one or more of them or their representatives, administrators, heirs, direct family, successors or assignees (“the released ones”), including any claim for damages caused due to the negligence of any of them, arising out of my participation in the event and its related activities, together with any expenses including legal services, in which I may incur due to said claim whether or not valid, and I indemnify and do not hold the released and each one responsible against any claim that I or my visits or one or more of my or their representatives, administrators, heirs, direct family, successors or assignees you may have filed against all expenses that include legal services regarding the same.

THIRD: I hereby acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my possessions and sports equipment during the event, and the activities related to it.

FOURTH: I declare in the same way that my physical condition and general health are compatible with the competition, which is an arduous and extreme discipline, for which I HAVE PERFORMED each and every one of the corresponding checks as preparation BEFORE I ENROLL in this career, being of my absolute responsibility any insufficiency, accident or illness that has a direct relation with my health. Furthermore, I declare that I am in perfect physical and mental condition to participate in the event, and that my physical condition has been verified by medical specialists before attending and starting the competition. That I will have this document in my possession for the days of the race if requested by the organization.

FIFTH: By means of this instrument I acknowledge that participation in the competition entails possible dangers and risks. Many uncontrollable and risk factors such as animals on the road, vehicles, reckless pedestrians, weather etc. Therefore, I release the authorities, sponsors, sponsors, triatletas.cl, its directors, executives, employees, volunteers from any liability for any loss or accident resulting from injury or death during the event and related activities. I declare that I have registered under my responsibility and without having been forced to participate in this very high-risk sporting activity. I declare that I understand it well, otherwise I will not continue with the registration process for this sporting competition.

SIXTH: Through this instrument I give my consent to receive necessary medical attention, which will be given by the criteria of the specialists who will provide first aid services to the event, in the case of injuries, accident and/or illness during the event. I declare that for the days of the competition I have the appropriate financial health coverage, health insurance (Fonasa-Isapre) or appropriate travel insurance to participate in the event and take responsibility for everything that extends beyond the first plans. aid, rescue that provides competition with your PMA (Advanced Medical Post). If I do not have the aforementioned coverage, I will refrain from participating or I will exempt the organization from all responsibility in case of being untrue and not having it.

SEVENTH: Through this instrument I allow in perpetuity the free use of my name and image, before, during and after the event in all types of television broadcasts, press, radio, etc. because they belong to the event

EIGHTH: By means of this instrument I declare that I know and agree that in case of canceling or postponing the race due to inclement weather (storm; rain; extreme temperatures; inclement seas; winds; safety conditions for athletes and decisions of the authority etc. ), my registration fee, nor the expenses incurred for participation, will not be refundable or transferable by the producer or organizer of the event, as long as due notice is given in case of postponement.

NINTH: I acknowledge that I have already registered for the event and paid my registration fee, it will not be refunded in case of desertion, under no circumstances. There will also be no refund of fees or taxes since these are not collected. (VAT).
