XTERRA is the premier off-road multi-sport brand in the European Union with 18 races in 10 countries providing top competition for professionals and amateurs alike. Multiple distances for all abilities and events for the entire family including trail runs and kids races.
PRO PRIZE PURSE
Silver races offer the equivalent of 7,500 Euro in prize money to the top five men/women. Gold events offer the equivalent of 15,000 Euro to the top seven men/women. XTERRA Czech will host the XTERRA European Championship race in Prachatice and will offer 25,000 Euro + 5,000 Euro (for Short Track event) to the top ten men/women. AMATEURS AWARDED ENTRY TO XTERRA WORLDS
Amateurs racers will compete against divisional rivals to secure a spot for the XTERRA World Championship. A minimum of 51 slots will be awarded for at each of the XTERRA Gold level events, and a minimum of 26 slots will be awarded for XTERRA Silver level events. 2022 XTERRA European Championship: It is not necessary to qualify, nor be European to race at the XTERRA European Championship on August 13th in Prachatice, Czech Republic. The top three elite men and women, regardless of nationality, will be given medals on the podium at the XTERRA European Championship awards ceremony. We will also recognize the top three Europeans in a situation where a non-European athlete earned a podium spot. The top European man/woman will be declared the XTERRA European Champion and awarded a racing jersey. If a non-European wins, he/she is honored as XTERRA European Championship race winner.
Silver Age Group (new in 2022): There are 4 Silver events named ‘Silver AG’ with no Elite prize money. Elites can still race and be ranked within the Elite category. These events, such as the Long Distance, might have a small prize purse, but this will be on a case-by-case basis and up to the organizer to decide. It is the responsibility of the Elites to contact the organisers to see what their policy is. Elites are welcome, but prize money and invitations are not mandatory.
*There is no European Elite Tour ranking and awards for 2022. XTERRA is working on a World Tour for 2023.

Level 1: Athletes ranked in the top 10 of the XTERRA World Ranking must be invited by XTERRA World Tour event organizer and have their entry comped: https://rankings.xterraplanet.com/

April 16–July 3rd: During the first half of the season (Greece | Portugal | Italy, Garda | Belgium | France), athletes will be invited (no entry fee) based on their World Ranking performance from their 2021 European season.

July 17–October 2: During the second half of the season (Italy, Scanno | France, Nouvelle Aquitaine | Czech, Prachatice | Germany |, the 10 Elites (M / W) who scored the most World Ranking points during the first half of the season will be invited (entry fee comped). The invite list will be sent to all concerned organizers and athletes between July 3rd at 22:00 (CEST) and July 4th at noon (CEST). Athletes will have from July 4th at noon (CEST) until July 10th at midnight (CEST) to validate their entries with organizers. After the deadline has passed, it will be left to the organizer’s discretion to accept late requests. Email dates and times can be used as proof in the instance of disagreements.
Elites must communicate with organizers a minimum of 14 days before an event if he/she cannot attend. In such cases as non-communication or last-minute withdrawals, Elites will not be eligible for the invite program during the following season.
Short Track Selection:
When a Short Track event takes place on the day following the Full Distance event, athletes will be selected from the results of the Full Distance and U23s from the results of the Sprint Distance:
- Top twenty (20) overall per gender group from the Full Distance
- Top three (3) U23s from the Sprint Distance (inside 12% of winning time)
- Two (2) Wild Cards will be awarded based on the Full or Sprint Distance results and will be decided upon by XTERRA and the Organizer
- Athletes must finish their race to be awarded a Wild Card (i.e., a bad mechanical ¾ through the bike drops them 20min)
Short Track Tour:
- Willing to get our best Elites during our 4 major events with Short Track we will add a €20,000 Bonus at the end of the Short Track Tour 2022.
- We will count your best 3 Short Track results and you must race the Final in Molveno, ITA.
- Top 25 athletes will get points (see tables above).
- Short Track France in Xonrupt, Czech in Prachatice and Germany in Zittau will have €5,000 prize money.
- The finale in Molveno will have €10,000 prize money, check details above.

Division winners will be awarded an exclusive XTERRA European Championship racing jersey.

Return of the European Tour
Step 1: Identify Your Age Group – Your age on the 31st of December 2022 will determine your age group.
Divisions for men and women: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 (m), 80+ (m), and Physically Challenged.
Step 2: Race & Score – You may enter as many races as you wish and score points by finishing in the top 15 of your age group. There are four 100-point scale brackets for “Gold” races, and 75-point scale brackets for “Silver” races. The season runs from April through October.

Step 3: Must Race Two – You must score and have completed at least two (2) XTERRA events during the season to be named the XTERRA European Tour Champion. There is no limit to how many races you can participate in.
Step 4: Every Race Counts – The athlete with the most points at the end of the season - by gender and age group - earns the title of XTERRA European Tour Champion and has a qualifying slot for the 2023 XTERRA World Championship.
Step 5: Tie-Breaker – If there is a points tie, the tiebreaker will be the athlete with the highest points within the official XTERRA World Ranking.
Step 6: Qualifying for the XTERRA World Championship - XTERRA World Championship slots will be awarded at every Gold and Silver event during the awards ceremony. Check the table at the top of this document to see the year every slot is valid for. For example: XTERRA Malta - 2022; XTERRA Netherlands 2022/2023; XTERRA Sardegna - 2023. European Tour winners will receive their World Championship slot for 2023 at XTERRA Sardegna.

Slot roll down:
- WC AG slots awarded at a Gold event are subject to roll down up to the 5th place finisher.
- WC AG slots awarded at a Silver event are subject to roll down up to the 3rd place finisher.
Additional WC AG Slots:
- Additional WC AG slots will be added proportionately to the number of participants per Age Group in every race.
- 1 slot will be added per every 10 athletes in each age group.
- The final amount of additional slots will be confirmed on race day.
- Additional WC AG slots are NOT subject to roll down.
Physically Challenged (PC) Athletes
- Physically Challenged athletes may choose to compete in the XTERRA Physically Challenged male/female division or in the XTERRA age group divisions. PC athletes must choose whether to race in the PC or age group division at their first race of the season and remain in that category for the remainder of the year.
- There are no PC age group divisions (15-19, 20-24, etc.…) or disability categories (PT1, PT2, etc.…)
- All PC athletes who race at least once will earn a World Championship slot.
- The male and female PC athletes with the most points at the end of the season earn the title of XTERRA European Tour Champion. PC Athletes must race at least two events to become the European Tour Champion.
