Located only 21 miles west of the off-road sports mecca, Boulder, the 9th XTERRA Indian Peaks Triathlon and Trail races on August 10th take you up and into the beautiful trails of the Eldora Nordic Center. These races are on true trail venues with a bit of dirt road, double track, single track and even a bit of "barely any there" track. It all ends up at the Indians Peak Lodge where you have live music, food trucks, beer, and great prizes. It all starts with newly renamed Indian Peaks Trail 10k and 5k trail runs (formerly the Eldora Trail 10k/5k) at 7:30. The trails will take you on short steep climbs, meandering jobs through the forest, a technical descent, and in a number of places where the trail is so soft, you won't hear your steps. The triathlons follow beginning at 9:15. Our classic race continues to challenge all comers with a 1000m swim in chilly Peterson Lake, a 600m dash to the transition area onto a 22km two-loop bike course and finally a 7km run course that many consider to be the most epic of all XTERRA run courses. You have to experience it to understand it.
We will offer a paddleboard version of the classic course where those that don't like to swim can paddle the 1000m swim course. Also, we will offer a new Sprint version with a 500m swim, a 12km one lap bike course, and a 4k trail run.

FAQ
What is the elevation of Eldora?
9,200 at the transition area.
Will there be a preview of the course?
On Sunday, July 12th at 9:00am there will be an organized pre-ride and the course will be marked
and open on Wednesday evening August 7th.
Why can't I prerun the course before the race?
The entire course is located on private land and is used by those landowners in the summer
months. They have been nice enough to allow us the use of their land for a few days.
How technical is the course?
The run is exciting as it includes tight forest runs where you have to pay attention to course markings and a few just awful grunt uphills ranging from 50 feet to 75 yards.
Can I switch races?
Yes, there is a $5 fee to switch except on race day where the fee will $10.
Can I or my family volunteer?
Of course. We are always in need of volunteers and it is truly a blast and a way to give back to the
sport. Just drop us a line at volunteer [at] digdeepsports.com.

Course Info - XTERRA Trail Run
Distances: 5K trail run | 10K trail run
Beginning and finishing behind the Indian Peaks Lodge, the trail runs will head up the access road onto the trails of the Eldora Nordic Center. Both courses utilize the courses of the triathlon and will be marked in red XTERRA signs and white XTERRA tape. You will be offered a bit everything on this course with meadows, single track, barely any track, mud, dust, and much more.
There will aid stations at 1.9, 3.6, and 4.9 miles of the 10K and at 1.0 and 2.0 of the 5K course.
Traveling from Boulder or Denver take US36 into Boulder and head west on CO119/Canyon Blvd. Take Boulder Canyon west for 18 miles to the unique town of Nederland and as you come into town take the second exit on the roundabout to continue out of town on 119. As you exit town turn right onto Eldorado Road and then follow the signs to the Eldora Mtn Resort.
If you are coming from Golden or south of Denver take CO93 out of Golden towards Boulder. Seven miles north of Golden turn left onto CO72 and into Coal Creek Canyon for the next 18 miles. CO72 ends at CO119 where you will turn right and then 3 miles later turn left onto Eldorado Road and up to Eldora.
Volunteers are always needed at our events. We need lifeguards, course marshals, aid station workers, finish line help and more. Each volunteer gets a high-quality cotton shirt, lunch, and drinks.
If you are part of a school or non-profit group we will donate $25 to your organization for each volunteer you provide. Competitors can receive up to half of their entry refunded or a credit for future races if they help set up or take down.
Email volunteer [at] digdeepsports.com if you're interested in helping out.
