The charming and historic town of Golegã is often known as Portugal’s Capital of the Horse.
The town is situated between the rivers Tagus and Almonda in Portugal’s Ribatejo Province. This region is one of country’s most fertile areas, dedicated to growing vegetables and rice and rearing livestock, largely cattle. It is also the home to many of the oldest and most prestigious breeders of Lusitanos horses.
The swim is quite unique taking place in a dam and the bike and run course has a little bit of everything including flat sections, bridges, single tracks in Eucalyptus and Cork forests and lots of climbing and downhills to satisfy anyone.
