XTERRA Jersey Devil, held on May 6, 2018, is now in its 8th year. The course is perfect for dusting off those race cob-webs and getting the new XTERRA season underway. For many veteran racers it has become a staple early season race, and a true sign of who has put in the work over the long Mid-Atlantic and Northeast winter. For those new to XTERRA and in the "I want to try something new" category, the race is the perfect atmosphere to get everyone excited about the "LIVE MORE" XTERRA VIBE. The race is held at the beautiful Citta Boy Scout Reservation in Barnegat, NJ, known as one of "America's Favorite Scout Camps." The Reservation is within a 2 hour drive of both Philadelphia and New York City, and about 30 miles north of Atlantic City. XTERRA Jersey Devil has built a great relationship with the Scout Camp, of course it doesn't hurt that all proceeds from the race go back to the Scout Camp, neighboring Girl Scout Camp (which the run course goes through), and the Wells Mills County Park (which much of the mountain bike course travels through). So besides getting in a great day of racing you can be assured your race entry is going to support some great causes.
Once again the XTERRA Jersey Devil course will consist of a 1/2 mile swim in a beautiful cedar lake, a 13 mile mountain bike section on mostly packed sand and pine needle trails, and the awesome 3.1 mile trail run which has you twisting and turning all over the Scout Camp property. The course is known to be very fast for those expert racers and very forgiving to the "newbies." AND of course you always need to keep an eye out for the JERSEY DEVIL himself!!
