XTERRA DINO Northern Indiana is the closest XTERRA Trail Run to Chicago, and a great choice for first-timers. It's fast and fun for the experienced off-roader as well.
XTERRA DINO Northern Indiana is ON for July 24.
However, Covid-19 is still a lingering concern. After months of steady improvement, new cases have taken an uptick in Indiana, so we're taking extra precautions for the race:
*Online registration only - deadline Wednesday, July 21. If you intend to race, please register promptly so we can plan accordingly.
*Face covering required at check-in and while at event site, except while racing.
*Maintain social distance at all times, except as necessary during the race..
*No more than 75 athletes will be allowed in any wave or start group.
*There will be no post-race awards ceremony or activities - please disperse after finishing.
*Do not participate if you have any Covid-19 symptoms.
*Note that St Joseph County (home to the race and city of South Bend) currently has a mandatory face covering order for enclosed spaces.
*We ask participants and potential participants from outside our geographic region to carefully consider risks to public health before deciding to attend.
*Any registered participant that is uncomfortable under these conditions may request a refund by July 22 and receive a full refund (excluding Active Network processing fee)
*More detailed instructions / information will be sent to all registered participants on or around July 20.

7 KM TRAIL RUN
South Bend is just 10-15 minutes away and has ample lodging options. At the park, there is a large campground which will book a few weeks prior to race weekend. Camping reservations: http://indianastateparks.reserveamerica.com/
If you're racing, do you have a friend or family member who can help out? Volunteers are needed for aid stations, course marshals, lap counting, and lifeguarding. We can provide you with a park entry pass and a few other goodies! We may even be able to help with your entry fee if you provide us with a volunteer.

Friday, July 23, 7 pm, at the race's transition Area
Are you new to off-road triathlon, or perhaps you're interested in honing your transition skills? If you'd like to learn how to get free speed, Mudslingers Endurance Coaching, formerly Braveheart Coaching Chicago, is hosting a free transition and course preview clinic the evening before the XTERRA race. One of Mudslingers coaches, Chrissy Halioris, will give you the skinny on both courses and what you can do to have your best possible performance come race day.
Mudslingers Endurance Coaching works with endurance athletes who compete in both on and off-road events including triathlon, ultra-endurance running, cycling and gravel racing. If you'd like more information shoot owners and coaches Kristen and Al Wade a message at mudslingersec [at] gmail.com.
