The XTERRA Trentino-Dolomiti Paganella off-road triathlon and duathlon races scheduled for September 24-26, 2021 in Molveno, Italy will double as the European Triathlon Cross Duathlon and Cross Triathlon Championships.
The breathtaking venue situated on the shores of Lake Molveno fronting the Brenta Dolomites, which hosted the inaugural XTERRA Molveno ShortTrack races in October, is the perfect destination for off-road racers and their families looking for a gorgeous holiday getaway.
“It is a real honor for us to host such a great international event,” said Luca D’Angelo, the Dolomiti Paganella Tourism Board Managing Director. “We are really excited to organize another epic race, after the first international XTERRA ShortTrack events in 2020, and we are looking forward to sharing this adventure with our mountain community. We really believe our destination could become a favorite hotspot for professional and amateur endurance athletes with our stunning Dolomites landscape, great tourism facilities, and wide range of outdoor experiences for the entire family.”
The event will be held in cooperation with Europe Triathlon and the Italian Triathlon Federation.
“The municipalities of Molveno and Andalo in the heart of Brenda Dolomites are the perfect location for off-road duathlon and triathlon racing. It’s a paradise for the outdoor enthusiast and offers the perfect infrastructure,” said Renato Bertrandi, the president of Europe Triathlon. “I am delighted the 2021 European Champs of Cross Triathlon and Duathlon have been assigned to XTERRA. Europe Triathlon has for many years enjoyed good collaborations with other professional organizers and we are happy to start this new experience with XTERRA.”
Konstantinos Koumargialis, the marketing director for XTERRA Europe, shared Bertrandi’s enthusiasm for the partnership.
“XTERRA Europe is delighted to join forces with Europe Triathlon to host the 2021 Cross Triathlon and Cross Duathlon Championships in conjunction with XTERRA Trentino-Dolomiti Paganella,” said Koumargialis. “With their support, the backing of Trentino and the Dolomiti Paganella regions, and the cooperation with the Italian Triathlon Federation, we’ll work together to produce a magnificent event weekend that will help grow the sport we all love.”
