Imagination-based Obstacle Course MTB Training
In this training spotlight former XTERRA World Champion Nico Lebrun challenges us to get creative with our spaces and build obstacle courses where we can hone our mountain bike handling skills.
“Cones, water bottles, wood, hose, ropes, trees, shoestrings, rocks, steps, clotheslines … use whatever you have available and have some fun with it,” said Lebrun, who built a skills-challenge course in his backyard in Digne, France that looks so fun kids could ride it all day long.
Lebrun, the director for XTERRA Europe and founder of the XTERRA Coaching certification program, uses makeshift trails to work on his balance, hike-a-bike technique, bunny-hopping, and precision turns.
“This concept is all about putting your imagination to the test,” explained Lebrun. “It’s good to have some fun and be outside and working on these bike handling skills will make you a better rider.”
And, tune-in Sunday 9am PT / 12pm ET / 6pm CEST to join Lebrun on XTERRA Facebook LIVE for a 30 minute interactive workout designed to strengthen your feet and core to improve your running.
