XTERRA Foundation donates $2,500 on behalf of the XTERRA community to the Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance (VVMTA).
(Avon, CO) – XTERRA Foundation, the non-profit arm of the XTERRA World Tour, donated $2,500 on behalf of the XTERRA community to the Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance (VVMTA) on Saturday, July 20, at Beaver Creek Resort in Eagle County, Colorado.
VVMTA, the local trails advocacy group, recently built and opened the Everkrisp Trail - the first new trail built on USFS land in Eagle County in over 10 years. The new Everkrisp Trail is 4 miles long with 1,000 feet of climbing and descending and connects the communities of Minturn and Eagle-Vail.
"We are excited and proud to partner with the XTERRA Foundation,” said Ernest Saeger, VVMTA’s executive director. “Their ideals to protect the natural environment and encourage an active, outdoor lifestyle fits perfectly with the Vail Valley Mountain Trails Alliance's mission, and their donation to the Eagle County Trail Fund will continue to allow us to maintain, build, and advocate for soft surface trails in Eagle County for many years to come."
“We’ve been hosting XTERRA off-road triathlons and trail runs at Beaver Creek since 2009, and its great to see the efforts by Ernest and VVMTA to improve and expand trails for the community to enjoy,” said XTERRA President, Janet Clark.
Clark presented VVMTAs board member, Pete Seibert, with an oversized check at the XTERRA Beaver Creek off-road triathlon awards ceremony on July 20, with many Eagle County resident athletes participating in the award. Learn how you can get involved by volunteering or contributing at vvmta.org.
