The 2019 XTERRA Costa Rica off-road triathlon scheduled for May 26, 2019 has been cancelled.

“We are very sorry to cancel this year’s event,” said XTERRA Costa Rica organizer, Enrique Wong. “Despite persistent efforts by our entire team, we were unable to secure the financial resources needed to produce a high-quality event. We’d like to thank our friends and colleagues, event partners, participants, and volunteers for their support during this time.”

“The event has been an integral part of the XTERRA Pan American and World Tours for six years and we apologize to the local and international athletes who planned on experiencing XTERRA Costa Rica this year,” said Janet Clark, XTERRA President.

Following the cancellation, there are now 10 championship events on the 2019 XTERRA Pan American Tour calendar, starting with XTERRA Argentina on March 23.  Of note, elites racing on the XTERRA Pan American Tour will still count their best six races.
