Hit the New Year Running with XTERRA White Tanks January 6th

If trail running is one of your New Year's Resolutions, XTERRA White Tanks is for you.

Dec. 19, 2018

This January, hit the ground running with the XTERRA White Tanks 8K/20K. The third stop in a five-race XTERRA Arizona Trail Run series, XTERRA White Tanks will be held in White Tanks Mountain Regional Park, near Tempe, on January 6, 2019.

A great way to kick off the new year, XTERRA White Tanks will inspire you for the season with scenic, rocky trails, a feeling of accomplishment, and the camaraderie of the XTERRA Tribe.

The 20K consists of some tough single track and over 1500 feet of climbing up the Ironwood and Waddell trails. Luckily, what goes up comes back down the mountain, where you will be greeted by loads of cheering and a post-race breakfast. The 8K follows the same trail the 20K starts out on but avoids the climbing. If one of your New Year's Resolutions is to try a trail run, this race is for you.

Athletes earn points in each race of the XTERRA Arizona Trail Run Series. 100 points are awarded to each age group champ, with points awarded through 15th place. The athlete with the most points- by gender and age group- earns the title of XTERRA Arizona Trail Run Series Champion and earns free entry into the XTERRA National Championship in Ogden, Utah in September 2019. Of the two races at XTERRA White Tanks, only the 20K counts towards the points series.
