The climate in Colorado favors the most tradition running season. It begins in September with the XTERRA Golden Gate Trail Run (which many cross-country runners view as the start of the new year) and ends at the beginning of August with the XTERRA Castle Rock Trail Run.
The XTERRA race series stops at the most beautiful places in the Rocky Mountain State. From Colorado Springs to Avon to Golden, you are sure to find your "peak experience" in the XTERRA Colorado Trail Run Series.
This year, the XTERRA Colorado Trail Run champs included both new faces and old friends. This is Jo May's third year as the 70-74 age group camp and it's the second year for Doug Beagle (65-69), Kari Taylor Romero (40-44), Troy Pasch (50-54), and Craig Vogtsberger (physically challenged and pictured above).
The rest of the champs are newcomers, and we look forward to seeing them compete at the XTERRA Trail Run National Championship in Utah in September. All XTERRA Trail Run Regional Champs receive a complimentary entry into the race at XTERRA Nationals to go against the best of the best from around the country.
