Jimmy Davis from Kailua, Hawaii and Noe McMahon from Volcano, Hawaii, won the 10K titles at XTERRA Freedom Fest on July 1, 2018, on a sunny and warm morning at Kualoa Ranch on Oahu.
Davis took both the men’s title as well as the 40-44 age group title by running the challenging course in 43:47, or 7:03 pace. Jono Blodgett from Kailua, Hawaii was second in 44:08 while Ralph Tompkins from Kaneohe, Hawaii was third in 45:21.
In the women’s race, McMahon was sixth overall with a time of 48:30, which translates to an impressive 7:49 pace. Molly Neal from Honolulu was second in 50:03 while Maegan Ruggles from Kailua, Hawaii was third in 51:33.
In the 5K race, Paul Niedzielski from Mattawan, Michigan took the win in 22:22. Dan Peebles from Wahiawa, Hawaii was second in 23:58 while Chiara Arnet from Engelberg, Switzerland was third overall in 24:33 and first for the women. Third for the men was James Lindell from Kailua, Hawaii in 24:46.
In the women’s 5K, Chiara Arnet was followed by Tiffany Tang, from Mililani, Hawaii in 25:13. Ruth Arnet, from Switzerland was third in 27:29.
