On July 1, XTERRA returns home to Hawaii for XTERRA Freedom Fest at Kualoa Ranch on the island of Oahu. Held in the same beautiful valley that the XTERRA Trail Run World Championship will be held this December, XTERRA Freedom Fest is a chance to run on one of the most amazing trails in the world. Usually, the trails at Kualoa Ranch are closed to the public, so this race is not to be missed!
The 10K trail run begins on a jeep road so you can spread out and get your bearings. Then, as it narrows to single track, you will be led by some of the most famous movie sites in the world where you can run past movie sites from 50 First Dates, Kong: Skull Island, Jumanji, and Jurassic Park, to name a few. But what will really win you over is the breathtaking scenery, views of Chinaman’s Hat, and Aloha spirit that permeates the Hawaiian islands.
There will also be a 5K, a 2K Kids Fun Run, a 20K and 40K mountain bike race, a 1K swim, and an XTERRA off-road triathlon (1K swim, 20K bike, 8K run).
Your entry includes a BBQ, live music, and of course, a finisher medal and tee shirt. Even better, the proceeds from the race benefit the Humanility orphanages in the Philippines. Last year, the XTERRA Freedom Fest raised $10,000, which was used to purchase a vehicle to take the children to and from school.
