On June 10th, XTERRA will stop in both Hanna City, Illinois for XTERRA Illinois Wilds and in Show Low, Arizona for Deuces Wild.
XTERRA Illinois Wilds
XTERRA Illinois Wilds will be held in Wildlife Prairie State Park, just 10 miles west of downtown Peoria. The park contains animals native to Illinois including bison, elk, cougars, otters, owls, snakes, and more.
For the human animals competing in the XTERRA, you will be swimming for 800 meters, riding for 15 miles, and running for four miles.
After XTERRA Illinois Wilds, the XTERRA Midwest Region will head to XTERRA DINO in Northern Indiana on July 14th before moving further north to XTERRA Ionia in Michigan on July 22nd. XTERRA DINO Southern Indiana will celebrate warm summer days on August 4th before XTERRA St. Louis revels in its new location on August 12th. The season will have its finale at XTERRA Rockport Rugged on August 18th.

XTERRA Deuces Wild
If you happen to be near Show Low, Arizona on June 10th, you can’t miss XTERRA Deuces Wild. Part of the 15th Annual Deuces Wild Endurance Festival, XTERRA Deuces Wild race is on Outside Magazine’s “Must Do Tri” List as well as one of Triathlete Magazine’s “100 Best Races.”
The 800 meter swim will take place in Fool Hollow Lake, which doesn’t get much warmer than 65 degrees, so bring a wet suit. The mountain bike course will be following an alternate route because of fire danger, but the new, two-loop format is extremely spectator-friendly and will have about 800 feet of climbing. The 8K run leaves transition and makes its way to the green water tower. From there a steep decent followed by a challenging ascent will eventually bring you to the dirt trail around Fool Hollow Lake. After the flat out and back, you will make your way up to the finish chute bringing your race to a close.
