Tea Tree Cut-a-thon and Tree Planting Programs are Back!

May. 17, 2018

If you’ve raced XTERRA before, it's likely you’ve grabbed a handful of John Paul Mitchell Systems' (JPMS) Tea Tree samples offered at the race.

What you might not know is that the partnership between XTERRA and JPMS goes way beyond the product and way back to over 20 years ago. The relationship is rooted in a shared love of the environment.

Once again this season, JPMS's Tea Tree brand is partnering with Reforest’Action, a socially responsible company committed to fighting deforestation by planting trees in areas where they’re most needed, JPMS has pledged to plant 750,000 trees by the end of 2019 in Peru, Haiti, and California. Their commitment will go a long way towards preserving the environment and improving life for millions around the planet.

JPMS committed to planting 10,000 trees in California alone to help reforest the land destroyed in the Sand Fire in 2016, and on March 1, 2018, the JPMS Tea Tree teams planted the first 150 trees of that project in the Angeles National Forest.

If you'd like to learn how you can help JPMS and XTERRA make a difference in the areas that need it the most use code TEATREE18 to plant your FREE tree today. To share how you’re taking care of the planet, use #RootedInGreen and follow JPMS on Instagram @Teatreehaircare.

At XTERRA Oak Mountain, racers can make a difference and help the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF)  just by getting their hair cut, trimmed, or braided by a Paul Mitchell Stylist. In exchange for a small cash donation, racers and their hair will not only end up looking great, they’ll feel great, too, because they’re helping CAF provide opportunities and support to people with physical challenges so they can pursue active lifestyles through physical fitness and competitive athletics.

From 9am-1pm on Saturday and from 9am – 12pm on Sunday, stop in at the Paul Mitchell tent, and enjoy a sample of JPMS's Tea Tree products or get a haircut or braid. (The last customer is taken 15 minutes before closing time, so make sure you are there at 12:45 on Saturday and 11:45 on Sunday). Your donation will benefit the CAF.

All John Paul Mitchell Systems' products have been cruelty-free from day one, so you can enjoy what Mother Nature has to offer while also enjoying the planet. It’s not every day that you can do something good and look great while doing it.
