XTERRA President, Janet Clark, is excited about returning to Ogden for the XTERRA Pan Am Championship on September 16th, not just for the race, but for the city itself. Epic vistas, spectacular trails, amazing food, and a wild past - Ogden is an XTERRA athlete's dream town.

We always say that the best way to find Janet is to look for people who are laughing and looking radiant, because that is how Janet makes us all feel. But if you can't find her on the course, she may be at some of her favorite Ogden haunts.

1. Historic 25th Street -
The XTERRA Pan Am Championship officially kicks off at Ogden's Amphitheater on Friday, September 15th with the XTERRA Expo and Kids Zone Challenge Stations.

"Friday's Expo is on 25th and Grant for a reason," said Janet. "The top of this fabulous street has every kind of restaurant and shop, and at the bottom is historic Union Station, where the Utah State Railroad Museum is located."

Athletes can pick up registration packets for all events from 10 - 6 pm, and the Paul Mitchell Cut-a-Thon will be held from 12 - 5 pm. At 4pm, the Kids Races will start, and at 5pm, don't miss XTERRA University with Suzie Snyder and Josiah Middaugh.

2. Roosters Brewing Company
"Roosters Brewing Company and owners Kym and Pete Buttschardt have been huge supporters of XTERRA since it first was held here," said Janet. "They brew a wide range of beers. Pete is the chef and the food is excellent."

Roosters is conveniently located very close to the XTERRA Expo at 253 25th Street in Ogden.

3. Restaurants
"Ogden has great food," said Janet. "Tona Sushi has unbelievably fabulous sushi, and you must try Union Grill for classic American food like salads and burgers and everything in between. This is Pete Buttschardt's restaurant and we will gather trail runners there on Sunday night for post-race festivities."

4. Where to Fix Your Bike
Look no further than Skyline Cycle. They carry a wide range of parts, gear, clothing, and accessories. Even better, they will be on site at the XTERRA Pan Am Championship with anything you might need, from shifters to sealant to help you with any last minute tune ups or repairs.

For more information, or if you need a repair, contact Jacob at 801.394.7700. Skyline Cycle is located at 834 Washington Boulevard in Ogden.

5. Fun for the Family
Men's Journal named the Salomon Center one of the top ten man-made adventures for good reason. "If you want to fly in a wind tunnel, climb a rock wall, or surf indoors, this is your place," said Janet.
The Salomon Center is located at 2261 Kiesel Ave. Suite #200, in Ogden.

"The natural beauty of Ogden is breathtaking," said Janet. "Fall colors, hiking, biking, SUPing on Pineview Reservoir, where we swim. You just can't lose."

George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park is full of dinosaur sculptures for your Jurassic lovers, and the Ogden Nature Center includes 152 acres of walking trails and natural exhibits.

"Check out Perry Egyptian Theater," recommends Janet. "It's not what you would expect anywhere. It was built as an Egyptian-themed movie palace in the 1920's and now it's fully restored.
