After a three year hiatus the XTERRA Indian Peaks is back at the Eldora Mountain Resort on August 5th.
The day opens with a 10K Trail Run at 8AM. The off-road triathlon takes off at 9:30AM with a 1000m swim in Peterson Lake, just east of Eldora Resort. With water temperatures between 58-62 degrees, wetsuits will be required and hoodies are recommended.
The 22K mountain bike course is a two-loop course that follows much of the 10K trail run course.
The 7K run course will follow the trails on the east side of the Eldora Nordic trail system. It is a somewhat hilly course on dirt roads, double track and single track. The last 1.3 miles is along the very beautiful Lakes Loop Trail and finish at Indian Peaks Lodge.
Eldora Resort is located in Nederland, Colorado, about 17 miles from Boulder. With an elevation of 9,000 feet, it's recommended that you wear sunscreen and drink lots of water. Nederland is a wonderful small town known for its music scene, festivals, and access to great trails.
