Just outside the bustling metropolis of the Windy City, XTERRA is setting up camp in nearby suburban Palatine to bring Chicago a taste of its off-road, dirt-digging adventures. Three races span over Chicagoland’s coveted summer months to make up the XTERRA 2008 Chicago Trail Run Series.
Luring runners from the overcrowded, construction-covered city streets, XTERRA offers the chance for athletes to break out of their metropolitan routine and head outside to enjoy the spectacular nature within the densely wooded Deer Grove West Forest Preserve.
Unlike the myriad of weekend races through Lincoln or Grant Park, these trail runs challenge runners with their rolling hills, quick turns and dirt-filled rocky terrain. Retreat from the stress and pressures of hectic city life and come see why XTERRA is one of the most extreme running series around.
Past races have included limestone paths and large sections of switchback trails creating difficult courses daring runners to test their skills. Competition will be fierce as large turnouts are expected building the foundation for an outstanding series.
