XTERRA Winter World Championship
The XTERRA Winter World Championship has four disciplines rather than the usual three of Winter Tri. We’ll do ski mountaineering rather than cross country skiing, and we’ll put in a snowshoe leg that will truly be deep snow running and we’ll also do trail running and mountain biking on packed trails. Distances will be approximately 5K for the run, bike will be 10K with a few “features” included. The ski will be about 8K and include two climbs during the lap and the snowshoe will be 5K and designed to be in deep snow so snowshoes will be mandatory. Every discipline will come back to the same transition area so there will be nonstop action for spectators.

Teams: New for 2009 is a team option for the Winter World Champs. Teams of 2-4 people may compete in Mens, Womens and Co-Ed divisions.
Team Fee: US $120 - USAT License required for all team members. $10 single day USAT licenses are available for purchase when registering.

XTERRA Ski Mountaineering Races
Saturday, March 7 - 11AM Start
The XTERRA Ski Mountaineering race that combines alpine skiing with an uphill ingredient. Using sticky wax, climbing skins, or special x-country skis riders will climb their way up the mountain then race back down.

XTERRA Snowboard Dash for Cash
For the more radically inclined there’s the XTERRA Snowboard Dash for Cash. At the top, officials will guide competitors to a start line. Contestants will take off their snowboards. At a signal there will be a boot pack section to the top of the hill. From that point contestants will follow race markers and flags over an up and down course requiring them to boot pack up climbs prior to descents. The finish will be at the XTERRA Winter compound.
You will also receive an all-day lift ticket with your registration. Race for cash in the morning and cruise Snowbasin for the rest of the day for $30.
