Josiah MiddaughCurrent and aspiring XTERRA athletes can step up their training, fitness and capabilities at altitude this summer while training with Dogma coach and XTERRA pro athlete Josiah Middaugh. The first ever Colorado XTERRA Camp put on by Dogma Athletica and The Cycling House, will be held June 18-24, 2012.

“The goal of the camp is to provide a training and coaching experience designed to maximize fitness benefits for XTERRA athletes, says Rod Connolly, owner and cycling coach at Dogma Athletica.“ The camp will be great for those looking for a solid block of altitude training with one of XTERRA’s most decorated pro’s and defending Beaver Creek champion Josiah Middaugh.

Many in the XTERRA community are familiar with Middaugh from his racing results. But many may not know he is also and outstanding triathlon coach and athletic trainer with a masters in Exercise Physiology. Participants in this camp will get the benefit from Middaugh’s coaching as well as three other USA certified triathlon or cycling coaches.

The camp spanning seven days, six nights will offer:

  • Guided support for activities.
  • Healthy and nutritious organic meals prepared by a professional chef designed to support a good block of training and recovery.
  • Rides on the Vail Valley’s epic singletrack.
  • Training on the Beaver Creek XTERRA course.
  • Stay in an outstanding mountian retreat located near the top of Arrowhead mountain just West of Beaver Creek. Home to the 2012 XTERRA Mountain Championship. Sleeping and recovering at 8,200 feet to get the best benefit of a block of altitude training.
  • Participants will receive VO2 Max testing; body composition analysis.
  • Dynamic bike fits and gait analysis as well as speed work on the Dogma Athletica Woodway super mill.
  • Participants also have the ability to leave with a training plan to take into the rest of their season or data to take home to use with their own coach.
  • Off the bike activities can include specific strength or core work for triathletes, yoga, massage, trail hikes / runs, outings to Vail and Beaver Creek Village or simply just relaxing.

The cost of the all-inclusive camp is $2,995 USD. There is a shuttle option lined up for campers from the airport to the camp's home base.

A recent Cycling House Camp participant in Tucson, AZ said,  "The energy and spirit they have for riding and training really comes through.  It makes you remember why you loved this sport from the beginning.  You can't help but be inspired by the passion they have for what they do."
