XTERRA Massachusetts Series
For the first time, the XTERRA Trail Run Series is headed to Massachusetts. The long anticipated Massachusetts Trail Run Series bursts XTERRA into the New England area in full force.
The season kicks off May 17 at Wallum Lake in Douglas, MA. The 8km and 11km race explores the varying terrain around the 322 acre lake giving runners the perfect kick-off to this exciting series.
On June 28, runners will travel either 8km or 18km up, over, around and even through the French River at the XTERRA French River Festival in Oxford, MA.
Finally, on August 16, the XTERRA Hodges Hoedown will revisit Oxford, MA to test area runners with a half marathon along with a fun 10km trail run and even a kids race to round out the day’s events.
Points will be awarded to the top runners in every age group at the longest distance of all three events in the Massachusetts Series, and the standings will be updated after each event. At the conclusion of the series, the top overall runner from each age group will be awarded a free entry to represent Massachusetts at the 2014 XTERRA Trail Run National Championship at Ogden, Utah, in September.
