XTERRA POCONO TRAIL RUN SERIES CHAMPION: RICHARD BURGUNDER
Richard Burgunder loves to run, and he’ll go anywhere to prove it.
He already has one XTERRA Trail Run Regional championship to show for it, and he’s chasing after another.
Burgunder recently won the regional title for his age group (men 30-34) in the XTERRA Pocono Trail Run Series. It was the first year for the Pocono Series, and Burgunder said it was everything he expected it to be.
“When you think about running in the Poconos, you expect mountains with technical trails and rugged terrain, and they didn’t disappoint at all,” said Burgunder, 31. “It was really exhilarating. Very beautiful courses. I had a lot of fun doing that series.”

Runners in need of a challenging way to end the summer can enter the inaugural XTERRA Table Rock Trail Run on Saturday, Aug. 20, at Pickens, S.C.
