The Fugitive 10km Trail RunXTERRA HUNTING FOR ALL FUGITIVES

XTERRA is no stranger to the city of Richmond, VA, and in its 10th year, it’s back bigger than ever with the XTERRA Fugitive 10K Trail Run on June 13. Taking place alongside the 21km Xduro event, the XTERRA Fugitive 10K is the James River Scramble on a whole new level.

Both distances will challenge runners with natural and man-made obstacles that only the James River Park on Brown’s Island can dish up. New this year is the “Fugitive” theme testing runners with elements from the infamous Harrison Ford movie…the chase, the culvert, and the train tracks. Special recognition will be given to runners dressed in theme, and a special “Double” award will go to runners who race in both this event and the James River Scramble on May 16.

Registration is now open. Sign up now!

MICHELA ROSSI VICTIM OF ITALY EARTHQUAKE

Michela RossiMichela Rossi, 37, from L'Aquila, Italy, was one of almost 300 casualties in the devastating earthquake in central Italy earlier this month, according to her friend and travel companion Roberto Del Sol.

"I’m sorry to tell you that Michela has died, laid under the debris of her house in L'Aquila during the dreadful earthquake which destroyed the region," said Del Sol.

Rossi (pictured) finished  3rd in her age group at the inaugural XTERRA Trail Running World Championship in Hawaii in December, and went on to race in the Honolulu Marathon the following weekend.  She had just returned from a half-marathon in Milan. Michela will certainly be missed by XTERRA’s global family.

Redwood Park RunnersFor the women, former pro XTERRA mountain bike triathlete Aracelly Clouse of Cameron Park smoked the competition in 1:22:25. Bethanie Werner from Sandy, UT claimed the runner up position four minutes later. Wins from both this race and the XTERRA Chanoko half marathon last month have given Clouse a commanding lead in the XTERRA NorCal Trail Run Series.

The 5-kilometer event was won by Matthew Roberts, the Vice President of Marketing for event sponsor Springboard Biodiesel, and Lily Dashiell of San Francisco in 26:48 and 27:46 respectively.
