ON HER WAY TO WORLD'S: MICHELA ROSSI
According to Michela Rossi, she is not a runner because she runs. She runs because she is a runner. This 37-year old from L’Aquila, Italy has an impressive fall racing season and is just one of the many international runners heading to Hawaii for the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship. She completed the Italian Marathon on October 12th in just 3:43:15 and is gearing up for the Nice-Cannes Marathon on November 9th. Come December, Michela plans to embark upon the Greatest Week of Running on Earth as she attempts to finish both the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship on December 7 and the Honolulu Marathon just a week later. Qualifying at the XTERRA Sardinia half-marathon distance Xduro in 2:02:11, Michela is excited to visit the wonderful island of Oahu to race at the XTERRA Trail Running World Championship.

XTERRA Nevada Trail Runs
Trent Ward from Folsom, CA won the October 4th XTERRA Nevada 10km trail run in 34:31, exactly four minutes faster than runner-up Scott Bolin from Coarsegold, CA. Courtenay Brown from Incline Village won the women's 10km race in 41:57, good for 5th overall and three minutes better than second-place finisher Julie Olsen from Louisville, CO.
Woody Noleen from Colorado Springs, CO won the 5km race in 20:55 and Samantha Lampe was the top female in 23:58.

XTERRA Fall Fitness Trail Run
Just one week after the XTERRA Trail Running National Championship in Bend, Oregon, Georgia runners were back on the trails to kick off the 2008-09 XTERRA Trail Run Series with the XTERRA Fall Fitness 5km Trail Run in Buford, GA.
Gregory Mason, 28, and Stefanie Hush, 20, had the fastest finishes of the day coming in at 15:27 and 20:07 for the men’s and women’s races respectively. In a field of 145 runners ranging in age from 14-68, Mason was able to take the lead and finish only 20 seconds faster than runner up Travis Wray, 23. Kim Vanoflen, 16, took the women’s second place title with her time of 21:54.

XTERRA Haw Ridge Xduro
Local runners dominated the field at the October 12th XTERRA Haw Ridge Xduro Trail Run as Barry Lucas, 42, of Maryville and Sally Eveden, 53, of Knoxville placed first in their respective divisions in Oak Ridge, TN.
Lucas finished the 20 kilometer trail run in just 1:14:03 and was able to claim victory over runner-up Mark Rasnake, 35, of Knoxville by more than 10 minutes. Eveden, who finished in 1:42:27, had an even larger lead on her opponent Karen Wilkinson, 42 and also from Knoxville, who crossed the finish line in 1:55:14.
