  XTERRA West ChampionshipWhere: Lake Las Vegas, NVWhen: April 13, 2013 XTERRA returns to Lake Las Vegas, Nevada for the 2013 XTERRA West Championship. Located just 17 miles from the famous Las Vegas Strip, this is your chance to spend a weekend racing and take in some fabulous entertainment at the beautiful MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas Resort. XTERRA West Championship events include a full-length XTERRA championship race, a shorter distance XTERRA Sprint race as well as 5/10/21km runs.
Highlighting the weekend of activities are a ton of activities that everyone will enjoy. We've even have 5/10km trail runs/walk as well as a more challenging 21km half-marathon. And Paul Mitchell presents FREE XTERRA University clinics hosted by the sport's top pros. Click the EVENTS tab for more information. RegistrationONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED BUT YOU CAN STILL ENTER ON-SITE You can register on-site and pick up your packet starting Thursday from 2-5pm, on Friday from 2-5pm, and Saturday starting at 7:30am (No new tri registration on Saturday). Bring your ID & USAT card. SORRY, NO REFUNDS Registration fee includes an event T-shirt and post-race refreshments. Event t-shirts are guaranteed for all athletes registering by March 30. Walk-ups and registrations after April 1 are not guaranteed a t-shirt. A USA Triathlon license is required. Single-day licenses are available for $12 through XTERRA registration. Note: You must be present to receive your award. Awards will not be mailed after the event. Qualifying SlotsTop finishers at West Championship race are awarded slots to the XTERRA World Championship in Kapalua, Maui based on the following age group allocations.
CourseThis terrain is challenging but fun. The climbs are long and steep, the descent's are fast and rocky. It is extremely hardpacked but rocky. There is no significant, loose, deep or prolonged sand on this course.

Course marshals will enforce this cut-off time and competitors will be directed to transition. XTERRA University, presented by Paul Mitchell, offers competitors a chance to take in last-minute advice and pointers from the best off-road multisport athletes in the sport. The FREE sessions target improved swimming, biking and trail running techniques plus dealing with the specifics of the Lake Las Vegas course. McGhie's will have on-site mechanics for 2 days prior to the event and day of the race stock full of tubes, CO2 and more for all of your last minute wrenching needs. Rentals Due to the limited number of bikes in their MTB fleet, and the logistics of having them picked up/delivered to the race site, they will only be offering their Trek Fuel EX5 full suspension rentals at a first come, first rented basis. There are 10 bikes available to rent for the event, and the customer is responsible for pick-up at the Blue Diamond store. They will let you return the bikes to their Main store if that is easier.
