  XTERRA South Central ChampionshipWhere: Waco, TXWhen: April 17, 2011 The XTERRA South Central Championship is headed quite literally to the Heart of Texas, as Waco sits smack dab in the middle of the state. The race itself is in Cameron Park, a vast 416-acre municipal playground.
Highlighting the XTERRA weekend in Waco are a ton of activities that everyone will enjoy. XTERRA is also offering a 5/10km trail run as well as a more challenging 20km trail run race on Saturday the day before the main event. And Paul Mitchell presents FREE XTERRA University clinics hosted by the sport's top pros. XTERRA Gear will be on-site to provide the best in racing, training and casual apparel. Plus the XTERRA Sport race (half-distance off-road triathlon) offers competitors their choice of racing a shorter distance but equally fun off-road multisport adventure. Registration InformationOnline registration is closed but you can still register at the XTERRA Expo in Cameron Park on Friday from 1pm-7pm or Saturday from 8:00am-3:00pm. The park is bordered by 100 foot limestone bluffs that overlook the Bosque and Brazos Rivers. The swim takes place in what early Spanish settlers called el Rio de los Brazos de Dios - The River of the Arms of God. The XTERRA Trail Runs at Waco's Cameron Park are adventurous and fun. From a casual 5k run/walk to a grueling 20k half-marathon trek up, down, and around the surrounding hills - XTERRA has a challenge just for you. Get ready to XTERRA with the sport's best. XTERRA University, presented by Paul Mitchell, offers competitors a chance to take in last-minute advice and pointers from the best off-road multisport athletes in the sport. The FREE sessions target improved swimming, biking and trail running techniques plus dealing with the specifics of the Waco course. There will be time for Q & A with the pros during each session. Any collegian with a current photo ID can race for their school as an individual and get a break on Championship distance registration fees, and whenever there are three athletes from two or more schools entered they’ll race against each other for school pride in the college team division. There are no age groups in the college division – just male and female.
