Course DescriptionXTERRA South Central Championship XTERRA Sport Cameron Park is the ultimate destination when it comes to outdoor adventure in the Heart of Texas. The course will take your breath away as you go up and down power climb after climb, flow in and out of cedar breaks and into dark bamboo forests. "There is nothing else like this anywhere in the country" according to Bike Magazine and they were right. The trails can be screaming fast as you swoop down the burms on Vortex or they can make you leave your lungs on the side of the trail as you slowly climb Highlander and Erect. This thing has more turns and twists than a rubber band ball, so make sure you pre ride ahead of time and follow the arrows on race day. The course is mostly single track with areas that are wide enough to pass, especially on the River Trail that gives you 2.25 miles of relief as you limp home to the run transition. Rocks, roots, limestone ledges, tight twisty turns, short power climbs, narrow bridges, fast descents, it’s got it all! The park is bordered by 100 foot limestone bluffs that overlook the Bosque and Brazos Rivers. The swim takes place in what early Spanish settlers called el Rio de los Brazos de Dios - The River of the Arms of God. After completing this one lap mega swim, your arms will be burning in sacrifice to the river gods. CLICK IMAGE FOR LARGER VERSION Check out this rider point-of-view video of the Cameron Park Trails.
