#5 Become a Champion
Competitors who rank high enough in each region will be invited to compete at nationals. Qualifying slots are based on the following allocations in each age group in each of the eight XTERRA regions. For example: In the 15 - 19 age group in every region, the top four men and top four women will be invited to compete. In the 20 - 24 age group, the top fourteen men and top eight women will be invited.

Use the "US Standings " link in the left menu to check where you rank throughout the season. Near the end of the series, we will begin contacting athletes directly when they qualify for the nationals. When you get your invitation, please let us know as quickly as possible if you will be competing. Should a qualified athlete decide not to compete in the USA Championship, the position will transfer ("roll down") to the next qualified person until the position is filled.
Ties are broken based on:
-
Whoever scores the most points, in four races, from within his/her XTERRA Region of Residence.
-
The highest placing at the last XPS Race (Not XRC) within the athlete's Region of Residence where they competed together. Note: The term "last" does not necessarily mean the last event held in the Region.
-
Should all the tied athletes not have competed head to head in their Region, then the highest placing athlete at the last race in their XTERRA Region of Residence that either or any participated in will break the tie.
-
Results from XTERRA America Tour Championship (XRC) races WILL NOT be used to break ties.
