Join Trimax Endurance Sports on August 14th and 15th at Bear Creek Resort for a weekend of challenges for both roadies and trail junkies.

Two men are hiking in the mountains.  Luke suddenly stops, removes his hiking boots, and starts putting on sneakers.  David asks, "why are you doing that."  Luke answers, "I thought I heard a bear."  David argues, "you can't outrun a bear, not even with sneakers!"  Luke responds, "right, but I only need to outrun you."

The Bald Bear Triathlon starts off the 2 days of endurance madness.  Don't be fooled by this sprint tri's short distances: .25 mile swim, 14.7 mile bike, 2.2 mile run. The bike course is a challenging ride with tough climbs and steep descents; the run course is no slouch either.  Get used to the burning sensation in your legs because one steep hill after another may have you cursing both the race directors and the topography of Macungie.

The XTERRA Dirty Grizzly includes some rocks and dirt to add to the excitement continuing the Battle of the Bears Tri Weekend. The XTERRA distance includes a .5 mile swim, 10 mile mountain bike, and 3.2 mile trail run and is part of the XTERRA America Tour.  The Sport distance is still a formidable challenge with a .25 mile swim, 5 mile mountain bike, and 3.2 mile trail run. (No XPS Points awarded for the short distance)  Whether you are competing for an XTERRA National Championship or trying your first tri at the Sport distance, the Dirty Grizzly is a great physical test.  The trails at Bear Creek Resort are an off-road oasis.  The bike course has enough rocks and hills to test your chops, but is rideable for even the novice or intermediate rider.  And it should come as no surprise that the twisty single track run course will require your best climbing legs..... this is a ski resort in the winter.
