SalaryShield® Food Drive

The people behind the SalaryShield® Challenge and the XTERRA East Championship are challenging competitors to help them feed the Richmond area’s hungry. The goal is to collect 2,010 pounds of food for the Central Virginia Food Bank. The SalaryShield® team will match every pound of food or each charitable dollar collected, up to 2,010 pounds. That’s 4,020 meals that could provide for people in need this summer. Competitors, spectators, friends, and family members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items (no glass) or cash contributions to the SalaryShield® pavilion at the XTERRA East Champion June 19 and 20 and help make a difference in the local community.

Salary Shield is also giving away an iPAD over the weekend, and awarding the top local finishers in the XTERRA 10 and 21km trail runs, the XTERRA Sport race, and XTERRA East Championship with $50 restaurant.com gift cards. Here's a look at their gigantic, 8-foot tall by 36-foot wide banner hanging off their building in downtown Richmond that can be seen by thousands of motorists a day passing by on the freeway.
