The 4th Annual XTERRA Uwharrie is scheduled for May 2, 2010.  This year's event includes the Open Class with a 1000m swim, 24k bike, and 10k run.  The Open division athletes qualify for XTERRA points.  For those that are interested in participating, but not quite ready for the challenge the Open division brings, there are several more options for you.  These include the Open Team Relay, Sport Class (half the distance of the Open), a Sport Team Relay, and new this year, a 5K and 10K trail run.

All the fun starts at King's Mountain Point, in Troy, NC (just East of Albemarle).  This beautiful venue is located in the heart of the Uwharrie National Forest, which is the oldest mountain range in the country.  The swim takes place in Badin Lake, the bike ride takes place on some rugged and challenging trails and is followed by a trail run that, for the most part, goes along Badin Lake.  It is absolutely beautiful! 

A delicious lunch is provided to the racers the day of the event, there are plenty of aid stations around the course and wonderful volunteers that will keep you well hydrated during the event.

For those of you looking to check out the course the day before the event, we are offering a camping package that includes a pre-race dinner, camping and breakfast the morning of the event.  You can sign up for the camping when you register for the event.  Bring the whole family for a great weekend of adventure!
