XTERRA Still Racing in Nevada as Fox Sports TV Takes XTERRA to the Masses

While the XTERRA USA Championship moved from the Sierra Nevada range to the Wasatch range in Utah, there will still be a race at the former home of Nationals in Incline Village.

The XTERRA Lake Tahoe off-road tri will take place on the same course with the same distances (1500m swim, 30km mountain bike and 10km trail run) on August 29.  There’s also a shorter race consisting of a 750m swim, the same 30km bike, and a 5km run.

"The timing is really good — having it in late-August," said local amateur racer Marc Rancourt. "It's two weeks away from any other major XTERRA; it's the last point-series race before nationals...  one last race for athletes to boost their points ... and this area is a great base for XTERRA athletes."

XTERRA Pro Emma Garrard is organizing a pre-ride of the course on Aug. 22.  Learn more at bigblueadventure.com.

FOX SPORTS TV DEAL TAKING MAUI'S XTERRA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TO THE MASSES

The hour-long 2008 XTERRA World Championship show has garnered a massive amount of television exposure on Fox Sports Net affiliates across the country this month.

The show, which documented 600 athletes representing 25 countries and 35 states as they took on the worlds’ greatest and most grueling off-road triathlon in Maui, had already completed its nationwide syndication run on network affiliates ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX when a brand new deal with the prestigious Fox Sports Network (FSN) and Comcast Sportsnet cable channels kicked in on July 1, 2009.

In July and August of 2009 alone the show will be been seen by more than two million viewers, and coupled with the initial syndication the broadcast will have been seen by 4.5 million viewers by the end of August.

The distribution deal with FSN was secured by TEAM TV partner Jalbert Productions International of New York, who has been at the forefront of syndication for more than 24 years.

The date and time of each broadcast is available online at www.xterraplanet.com/television.  Highlights can be seen year-round at TEAM TV’s 24/7 web TV network, www.XTERRA.tv.
