XTERRA Mountain Cup Amateur Champs
Nico Lebrun and Shonny Vanlandingham won the pro titles at the XTERRA Mountain Cup at Beaver Creek Resort in Colorado on Saturday while 33 amateur athletes earned their spot on the starting line of the XTERRA World Championship on Oct. 25. Not only did XTERRA Pro Cody Waite have the best race of his career (finished 4th) but his "EPC Squad No. 1" captured the Team Challenge event at the Mountain Cup on Saturday, narrowly defeating Cody’s own "Squad No. 2". The winning team was comprised of Cary Kinross-Wright (40-44 winner), Luke Jay (25-29 winner), Ed Oliver (4th in 40-44 division), and Jason Michalek (30-34 and overall amateur champ).
