Batelier, Wasle Win XTERRA Czech

Franky Batelier from France and Carina Wasle from Austria won the XTERRA Czech Championship pro titles in Hluboka nad Vltavou on Saturday.

It's the second XTERRA European Tour victory this season for Batelier (pictured here courtesy XTERRA Czech), who also won XTERRA Italy in May, and it's the second year in-a-row that Wasle has won the Czech title.

Batelier posted the fastest bike of the day and finished a full three minutes ahead of local favorite Karel Zadak, with Austrian power Michael Weiss in third and the reigning XTERRA Japan and Saipan Champ Sam Gardner in fourth.

In the women's race Wasle (right) dominated, posting the fastest swim, bike and run times to finish more than 15 minutes in front of three-time Euro Tour champ Renata Bucher (left).
