Press and Media CenterXTERRA Northwest Cup Amateur Champs and Maui QualifiersA total of 33 athletes qualified for the XTERRA World Championship in Maui on October 25 by virtue of their fine performance at the XTERRA Northwest Cup on Satuday. Below are the age group champs from Idaho along with the other top finishers who qualified for Maui.
*PQ = Lois Marquart (60+), Alexia Droz (35-39), Meiling Yee (45-49), Cal Zaryski (40-44), Cliff Millemann (50-54) OURADA, ROARK GRAY WIN 4 CORNERS Daniel Ourada from Durango and Brandyn Roark Gray from Aztec, NM won the amateur titles at the XTERRA Four Corners off-road tri in Farmington, New Mexico on Saturday. HASKINS, VALL WIN DEEP SOUTH 15K Kennesaw State cross country standout Nathan Haskins took the XTERRA Deep South 15km trail run title in 54:33 in Jackson, GA on Sunday. XTERRA EUREKA SPRINGS ON SATURDAY The XTERRA Eureka Springs off-road tri at Lake Leatherwood City Park in Arkansas is Saturday, and after a wetter than usual spring the Ozarks are green and water is everywhere so racers can expect several wet creek crossings along with the usual lung-busting climbs and free-wheel’in downhills that characterize this challenging course. The race features a half-mile swim, 13-mile mountain bike and 5-mile run fun, and authentic bluegrass music played by the local band “Cletus Got Shot” will be heard for miles. XTERRA FROM UTAH ALL OVER THE TV Coverage of the 2008 XTERRA Mountain Championship at Snowbasin Resort (which will host the XTERRA USA Championship this year on September 26) and the 2009 XTERRA Winter World Championship are hitting markets across the country this weekend. Here's a short list of markets that will be broadcasting the half-hour shows (many back-to-back) on Sunday, June 14: Market Station Time CRITICAL SPEED WINS NW CUP TEAM EVENT Not only did Calgary, Alberta, Canada natives Cal Zaryski and Rosemarie Gerspache win the overall amateur titles at Farragut State Park on Saturday, they also formed half of the winning four-person team competition. The other two scoring members of their team included Sheila Gillis (runner-up in 30-34 division) and Kate Richter (3rd in the 25-29 division).
