GU Friday Returns August 1, Media Credentials for Worlds - Get Them Now



MEDIA CREDENTIALS FOR XTERRA WORLDS

Media interested in covering the 13th annual XTERRA World Championship in Maui on October 26 are encouraged to confirm attendance as soon as possible by emailing trey@xterraplanet.com.  There is limited space in media vehicles, at dinner functions, and at the Maui Prince Hotel, and plans are being made now to coordinate media coverage in conjunction with the existing 25-member XTERRA TV crew.  Any special requests for course maneuvering that allows media to track specific athletes will be given full consideration if applied for in advance.

LEBO, RAITTER WIN PHILLY XDURO

At the final race of the XTERRA Philly Trail Run Series on July 20, Scott Lebo, 41, and Sarah Raitter, 35, turned in the fastest times for their divisions at the XTERRA Nottingham Xduro 21km Trail Run.

Pottstown local Lebo was the first to cross the finish line in 1:29:55, ahead of runner-up Justin Harris by just 6 seconds. Reno, NV resident Raitter topped the women’s category, and placed 10th overall in 1:43:33. The longtime XTERRA athlete ran a fantastic race coming in almost 22 minutes ahead of Corrine Banks of Ocean City, MD.

In the 10km race, Stefan Pohl, 44, and Ulla Chwalisz, 49, both of Oxford, PA, took first place with their times of 49:51 and 1:01:30 respectively.  Full story

GRIESER, COLONNA WIN XTERRA AUSTIN

The inaugural XTERRA Austin was an event not to be missed as 121 solo athletes and 12 teams came out to brave the heat on July 20.

At the finish line, it was Kyle Grieser, 26, from Marble Falls, TX taking home the win in 1:57:13. Second place went to local Adrian Barron, 36, in 1:59:16 and Derick Williamson, 27, also from Austin rounded out the top three in 2:00:30.

Taos, NM resident and reigning 40-44 XTERRA USA Champion Caroline Colonna, 44, took top honors for the ladies in 2:22:20.  Kim Jennings (28, Waco, TX) was second in 2:30:29 and Karen Robertson (49, Grapevine, TX) took the last podium spot of the day in 2:35:45. Full story

TALLEY, KING WIN XTERRA ANTELOPE ISLAND 12K

Local running phenomenon Corbin Talley, 31, and Stephanie King, 26, took first place in their respective divisions at the XTERRA Antelope Island Trail Run in Northern Utah on July 19.

Talley, the head track & field and cross country coach at Davis High School, is a Utah road race legend and is now beginning to conquer the trail racing circuit as well. He won the 12km race in an incredible 48:29 with Kevin Tuck, 52, taking second place more than two minutes later.  In the women’s race, King won with her time of 1:01:59 with Jenna Deelstra coming in a close second at 1:02:17.   Full story.

RICKENBACH, SALTER WIN THOMPSON LAKE

Brett Rickenbach, 33, from Danvers, MA and Essex Junction, VT resident Monique Salter, 30, took the top seats at the XTERRA Thompson Lake on July 20th in Portland, ME.

Rickenbach won the top podium spot with an overall course time of 1:47:16. Less than 2 minutes later was Matthew Craft, 30, from Seal Harbor, ME.

For the women, Salter took the top spot in 2:05:18 with Oakland, ME resident Tracey Cote and Kelly Ault of Middlesex, VT coming in right behind her at 2:05:49 and 2:06:26 respectively.  Full Story.

BECK, DONLEY WIN IN ALASKA

The XTERRA Hammerman took place in Anchorage, Alaska on July 19 and featured a tough course with a ½ mile swim, 13 mile mountain bike and 4 mile trail run. Locals Jens Beck and Shannon Donley won the men’s and women’s divisions with their times of 1:29:02 and 1:49:21 respectively.

Beck was able to defeat last year’s winner Will Ross, 19, by just under a minute while Donley, 37, had a repeat performance of her win last year by beating Laura Norton-Cruz.

McMAHAN, COLLINS WIN XTERRA WILD HORSE CREEK

XTERRA Pro Jeff Smith of Sandpoint, ID won the overall in 2:11:38, almost 4 minutes faster than runner-up and amateur winner Ross McMahan from Incline Village, NV.

Erin Collins of Provo, UT won the women’s race, and was fifth overall, in 2:33:22 while Keri Grosse of Leavenworth, WA followed just 3 minutes later.

RAMOS, CAYLOR WIN THE O.N.E

At the first-ever XTERRA O.N.E. in Ravenna, OH first place titles were awarded to Teodora Ramos, 32, & Sarah Caylor, 38.

Ramos was the first out off the bike, and the lead was his to the finish as he crossed the line at 1:43:35, less than a minute ahead of Tom Franek, 44.

Caylor dominated in the women's race. She came out of the water first and never looked back finishing in 1:59:56, almost 25 minutes faster than 26-year old Lauren Mika. From Toronto, Ontario, Caylor is new to XTERRA, but got hooked after winning the XTERRA Trimax on June 29.  Full story.
