More in Milwaukee for kids
A myriad of events just for kids will take place at the XTERRA Village at Veterans Park this weekend in an effort to promote the healthy, active, outdoors lifestyle XTERRA is all about. A collaboration of efforts resulted in the Wisconsin Sports Development Corporation Fit Kids Challenge program in Milwaukee joining forces with the Nissan Kids Base Camp. There are free running and bike races just for the youngsters, plus experts teach the basics of bike mechanics and bike safety. There are obstacle courses and agility drills, a soccer penalty kick shoot-out competition, and a climbing wall. All of the Milwaukee Youth taking part in the Fit Kids Challenge, a 16-week educational opportunity for children to learn the fundamentals about physical activity and nutrition sponsored by the SE Wisconsin McDonald’s, have been invited to join in this day of fun in the sun with their friends. The first 500 to register and come down to the XTERRA Village are going to receive a Fit Kids Challenge T-shirt. Plus, every kid wins prizes and awards and Ronald McDonald himself will be joining in the fun.
