Experience Prevails at XTERRA Oak Hill Trail RunDominic Wyzomirski of Pittsburgh and Joan Cottrill of Cuyahoga Falls relied on their experience to run away with victories at the XTERRA Oak Hill Trail Run on Aug. 21 at Boston Township, Ohio. Wyzomirski, 50, finished first overall. He completed the 5-mile course at Cuyahoga Valley National Park in 31 minutes, 53 seconds. Wyzomirski resides in Hampton Township, Pittsburgh, Pa., and made a two-hour drive to compete in the Oak Hill Trail Run. "This trail wasn't very technical, so I was able to keep a pretty quick pace," he said. "There was a pack of about five at the front, and we hit this big, long hill and I went for it there. I was able to pass them all and hung on the rest of the way." Steve Savage, 29, of Dayton was second in 32:35, and Brian Bernard , 24, of Stow was third in 32:37. "I love beating the young guys, I have to admit it," Wyzomirski said with a laugh. Cottrill, 48, was the first female to finish with a time of 37:49. It was the second time this season that Cottrill was the first overall female. For complete results from the XTERRA Oak Hill Trail Run, visit www.xterratrailrun.com or www.xterraohio.com.
